Disney Channel Games 2008???

I am sorry that I brought everyone down because of what I was told waiting in the concert ticket line on Saturday! Seriously, these were girls that were just "giving me a clue" on what I could expect as I mentioned it was
my kids first concert. They went to the Ellen Show taping that the JB's performed at over at Cityplace during Spring Break and told me I would definitely need earplugs from the girls screaming and that if you leave your spot to use the facilities, you won't get it back. They pack in like sardines &
stand there - screaming. If a high schooler tells me its LOUD - it must be unimagineable. Again, these were girls who traveled the country to attend
JB concerts & were very up front with what I could expect from their own personal experiences. I have friends that are watching the games there now & haven't heard what they are experiencing. (Hope that it is something more positive to report). At least we know what to expect regarding the concert taping. Has anyone heard a reply that requested to participate in the Toy Story Mania promo?

don't worry about it :) we all know how crazy jb fans can be. i am one of them..shhh. lol. let us know if you hear anything from your friends!

ok back to studying for finals

I was at the taping of the Ellen show at City walk when the Jonas Boys were there. OMG Loud is an understatement. :rotfl:

The girls were screaming and crying etc. Just be prepared. When the boys came on stage for their 2 songs or walked past to get to Ellen there was a lot of pushing and pandamoduim  (sp??) But what are you gonna do this is for the kids anyway!

We are suppose to hear on the Toy Story Mania promo by 7pm this evening.

I just want to say that everyone is a wealth of knowledge and I wish I would have found this thread a long time ago to help with all of my planning. So since they start letting people in at 7pm on Saturday and its going to be pushing and shoving on the field is it even worth it to go.....my boys are looking forward to this and we are already going to be in Lakeland for a Dance Competition but I just don't know now that I have Field Tickets instead of Seat Tickets if this is going to be something they enjoy. Any insight? Plus why do the Field tickets have assigned sections & numbers on them - is it going to be broken up like that?

i really hope that despite the fact that you can't see much, you can tell who's on the teams! i'm really dying to know :confused3

Oh wow. Oh wow.

I can't understand how those girls can even sleep in their cars overnight. Parking isn't open until 4:00.

I am scared. This is my DD's first concert EVER with her favorite band EVER (the Jonas Brothers obviously). I want her to enjoy it.

Just explain the meaning of SUPER CRAZY FANS to them. Be prepared for incredible high pitch screaming for 3 hours. I know I'm taking a couple of tylenol extra strengh before going on Saturday.
:rotfl:

I think she'll enjoy it, but she just won't be able to be up close.

I know I'm probably going to have to stay back and just watch on the screens, because it'll probably be too much for me.

If it's anything like their House Of Blues concert, then I won't enjoy it at all.

I don't see why someone would SLEEP in their car, when they're not going to be up front anyways. Everyone has been saying the hired extras are in front of the public, and then the extras are in front of the stars who AREN'T in the concert, and then there is the filming crew, then the stage. So they're sleeping in their car to be about 100+ feet away from the stage.

Not much action going on in that area, unless the JB have super stretch abilities.

the stars were out in the am but they were not dressed at approx 100pm this afternoon. They were out for press reasons only. I dont know how the rest of the day went...will find out l8r and let you know.

woah.everyones making the games sound alot more intense than they really were today. i got there around 10:30 and left at 1. yes, the bagcheck was intense and they made people bring their cameras to their cars (i was one of them, but my friends somehow managed to sneak theirs in) but you could definitely see what was going on on the field. We sat in the grassy area to the left of the bleachers and could see everything fine. Of course they didn't flim ANYTHING the entire time we were there and the stars came out for the first time around 12:30, but it was interesting to see. There was a small crowd at the fence in the grassy area and some of the international stars were signing autographs and talking to people, but other than that nothing much happened. Brian from TSL was walking around and he may have filmed a few things, and he came and signed some autographs, but other than that it was all sitting around. I talked to my friend who is still there around 3 and she said the stars had gone back "in hiding" and still nothing had been filmed.

They do frown upon taking pictures and they will tell you to put your camera back in your car if they catch you, but other than that I didnt see any issues.

hope that helps some of you...
oh, and this may make me sound like a creeper haha but i've been reading this thread for a few months now so I've been caught up on everything going on :P

I picked up my concert tickets this morning too and I still got my seats. I'm a cast member and I emailed for tickets for cast member and general public because I hadnt gotten a response, so I don't know if my tickets were through the Cast member email or the general public email, but im way up in the 200's. The stadium is small enough so Im not worried about not being able to see or anyting and as much as I want to be in the field, I've had wayy too many near death experiences in crazy jonas crowds. I'd rather not go through that again :)

Can you tell me about how the seating/lining up occurs for the field???? I looked back through all the posts but got a headache (a real one) trying to read everything.

for watching the games? we were just sitting at the top of the grassy area watching everything that was going on. one of my friends came with me to the fence area when Brian was signing autographs. there were really only like 2 or 3 rows of people standing there. there was another group of people sitting in the bleachers on the other side of the stadium. I know Chris Massey was signing autographs over there for a while and i think someone said Rico's older brother from Hannah Montana was there too? Its basically just chill wherever you want, no assigned seats or anything

So the grassy area IS open?

And about how many people were lined up to go into the games/ was the bag check line extremely long?

Thanks for your info

Sorry I meant for the concert.:rolleyes1

allzie welcome to the dis :thumbsup2 thanks for all the info, the previous poster is reffering to the concert field area. I think she has field tickets and there was talk that they have areas on the field divided.
I got my ticktes Sunday and am very close to the bottom, I saw the stadium and it's a great view. I'm going over tomorrow to see a bit of the action (hopefully)
Again welcome, CM's are always appreciated here at the dis.
:hippie:

there was no line when we got there. there really wasnt a whole lot of people there in general. this is my first time going to the games so i don't know what it was like last year, but there were ALOT less people there watching the games than i was expecting...especially seeing how many cars there were in the parking lot

ohhhh sorry! I didn't see any division on the field, but I wasnt really paying much attention. Im going to try and head back over to the games tomorrow before I go to work, so I'll try and check that out for you!

I'm only in Florida for a couple more weeks because I'm on the college program, but I'll still be a cast member because I'm a campus rep and I'm hoping to go seasonal :)

I am curious to know how things have gone since school has been let out for the day. Alot of school aged kids just getting there?
