Not sure where to put this but here it goes.....there are a few Disney Channels out there and they seem to churn the same old stuff over and over and over. I love Phineas and Ferb but I could watch 24/7 if I wanted too not to mention the other shows.

I would love to see maybe a Disney "Classic" channel, Disney has so many shows and they never show them. Remember the Sunday "Walt Disney World" show or whatever it was called, I couldn't wait for that to come on. All the little adventures and cartoons, it was awesome. What about the classic Mickey Mouse club and even the Britney and Justin MMC shows. Even the more recent - rescue rangers, duck tails, and buzz lightyear to name just a few (my kids love those). What about the classic movies?

Just had to vent a little and wondering if anyone else here feels the same? Hey we are DVC members and I'm guessing watch a little Disney channel?

a disney classic channel - much like the espn classic channel - would be a great idea - all the shows you listed would be wonderful for such a channel - put me down as a YES vote!!

My thought exactly. I think it was the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights where they showed original movies. I remember watching the Osmonds do a special from Disneyworld where they showed how the Haunted Maansion worked and some other rides. I also miss Dumbo's Circus. A classic Disney channel world be great.

Absolutely! I am sick of all the crappy "tween" shows- the kids are so snotty (and for the most part, talentless!)...it seems they're trying to be nickelodeon at times (and I on't let my kids watch Nick!)
My kids and I would love more disney movies, and more of the old cartoons! Put on all those great Mickey mouse and donald and Goofy cartoons! Give me some great black and white Mickey!

Would love it! There's so many old Disney movies that are hard to find like "Child of Glass" that I would love to show my kids. They have enough programming and movies in the vaults that they'd not have to run the same thing over and over either. Nickelodeon has recently been successful reviving some of their 90s programming late at night. They're getting fantastic ratings considering the shows are 20+ years old.

I remember being mad because "that stupid news guy" (Walter Cronkite-I think it was Watergate) would cut into Wonderful World of Disney shows or they were preempted to the later time slot and my parents were sticklers for bedtime for school the next day. We have Disney Movie Channel through Verizon and love it. I miss the shows from when my daughter was younger-"Rollie Pollie Ollie", "Out of the Box", etc. I watched the original Mickey Mouse Show with Annette and then saw it through the early 80's. There is so much quality Disney that might be considered "old" but it sure was good.

Every time we go to 50's Prime Time Cafe and I see the old Mickey Mouse Club clips I get nostalgic.

We had a show called "Vault Disney" that showed on our "oldies" cable channel here for several years. But I haven't seen it on the schedule for quite a while now. :confused3

I remember that years ago Disney would air some of the older shows like the original Mickey Mouse Club, Zorro, and Disneyland after midnight. If I was up late working on a project I'd often turn on Disney channel because I knew whatever came on after what I was watching wouldn't be too bad, even if it wasn't my favorite. Now it's just the same shows on that were shown during the day, and it seems like it's easy to see EVERY episode of a series so they're all reruns to me. Even if I only recently started watching a show that's been around for a while, I seem to have already seen most episodes of it without trying. If Disney would put on some different shows like they had before it wouldn't might not seem like they only have maybe a half-dozen shows and rarely a new episode. I used to record Ink and Paint Club and Walt Disney Presents when they were on at about 3am and watch them later. I wish Disney would put few more shows on the schedule, and I don't think it would cost much to show old shows made by Disney.

That is a channel that we would frequently watch if it ever happened. :thumbsup2 As it is we only watch the Disney channel now and then for a movie.

I guess Disney felt they could make more money by selling many of those older titles on DVD. With cloud technology here, perhaps we'll get a chance to create our own Disney channels in the not too distant future.:earsboy:

A Classic Disney channel would be wonderful! :thumbsup2.

Vintage cartoons, The Wonderful World of Disney, Classic Disney movies, and wasn't there a TV show about animals? It would be so much bettter than most of the shows that are on Disney now (except Phineas & ferb and Good Luck Charlie, which I love:lovestruc)

Turner Classic Movies has been showing some of the live action Disney classics - they even produced a documentary about Walt Disney's work in the live action genre. I watched it twice and got choked up twice. Great documentary if you haven't seen it.

D23 and TCM partnered together for TCM's festival this past spring.

All that to say, it seems as if there's an interest in resurrecting some of these older movies - if so, woo hoo! Hope TCM/Disney works out to be a good combination.

A while back, I was keeping up with a blog that was campaigning for this kind of channel - especially with the cartoons. Don't know whatever happened with that.

Disney Classic would be a great channel idea!
(If they could stick with it. Unfortunately, most "classic" channels too quickly revert to newer shows. While I thought Rollie Pollie was a high quality show, a classic channel would probably be showing that and "Suite Life" re-runs in about 22 months.

Although for some classic Disney cartoon shorts, we have our DVR set to record "have a laugh!"

I think this is a grand idea. I loved "Spin and Marty" too!:thumbsup2

Oh heavens yes! This would be wonderful. I truly wish they would show the old Disney Sunday Night Movies. I always looked forward to those when I was a kid. They never get old. I'd love to watch Swiss Family Robinson, Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp, Mary Poppins, etc. If it ever came to fruition my only suggestion would be to show them at 7pm instead of 8pm because the kids go to bed early to catch the 6:45am bus. Yes, yes, yes!!! We can dream, right?

My kids LOVE to catch the classics when they are used as commercials on the Disney Channel. Steamboat Willy is our absolute favorite. Even when we are on-site, DS14 likes to go to the lobby to watch them on tv and has done so since he was 12. I think Disney is missing the mark when it comes to not showcasing the classics. :wizard:

While we did enjoy the Suite Life On Deck, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Sonny with a Chance - - - the new shows just pale in comparison. My kids just aren't in to it. They still love the classics though!

It just annoys me when they really only have like 5 shows running and have them on over and over. My kids just loved rescue rangers, duck tails, buzz to just name a few and those are not even that old. So it wouldn't have to be oldies from just pre 1970s!
