Disney Cels Question

DH and I bought 3 framed sericels yesterday at a flea market and were trying to find out what they might be worth in the event they should be insured. All 3 have the disney logo with info on the bottom right and all three have a certificate of authenticity on the back of teh frame. I looked on ebay and they were all over the place and I can't really tell what they are worth, only what people think they are selling for.

I don't know what their secondary market price might be currently. I don't have any of the three you bought, but I do have a few (Upanova, Fantasia Mushrooms and Mickey holding a magic lamp w/ Pluto). These are listed as Sericels (similar to your Fab 5 piece) and were editions of 5000. I think their original list price was in the $225-$250 range.

I think the Fab 5 one recently sold on ebay for a value higher than $250, if I recall correctly. Snow White and Fab Five always do well and are sought after. My recommendation would be to watch ebay for a while and get a feeling for auctions of the same pieces and their final prices to determine the insurance range. At a minimum, you can go with the retail price for insurance purposes.

Thanks for the info - I'll keep an eye on ebay for different sales to gauge - there are a lot that are set up as buy it now so I can't tell since they range so much. I've seen the alice and snow white ones on there but not the fab 5 so I'll keep an eye out.

I got a great deal on them actually - I wasn't even going to go to the flea market - glad I did!
