I'm looking to see if it might be worth opening a Disney Credit Card for an ABD vacation? I know for DW and DL there are some great perks, but any type of cash back incentive or anything like that for ABD trips?

The only incentive is 0% financing for 6 months, just like on any other Disney vacation. I got an offer to upgrade to a "premium" card in the mail yesterday and there were no additional ABD related perks on that one either. And there was annual fee. :sad1:

Thanks Bobo!
I was hoping not to hear that :headache: While the 6 months is nice, I'm not sure it's worth opening a credit card. It's a shame there aren't more perks for the trips other than DW and DL.

The only other "perk" is that you *can* use the Disney Reward Dollars to pay for your ABD. I did that last year, and it took a nice little chunk off the cost of my ABD.

I couldn't agree with you more. I no longer use my Disney Visa, because I have other cards with better rewards.

sayhello - would you mind telling me what the Disney dollars to use are? How much do you have to spend to get something back? I keep trying to read the fine print but it's confusing! If not, I'll give them a call. Thanks!

If you have the standard Disney Visa you get 1% back in Disney Dollars on your purchases. Sometimes they run specials where you can get 5% back on certain types of purchases, but you have to receive the offer and enroll. Not everyone receives the offers. The premium Visa gives 2% back on your purchases. You transfer the Disney Dollars to a gift card and you can use it to pay for Disney vacations, purchases at Disney gift shops, buy movies, see Disney movies in theaters, and a number of other things. I think all that information is on their website.

What Bobo912 said. :goodvibes Except they are Disney Rewards Dollars. Disney Dollars is a whole different thing.

The other thing is, I think with the Premier Disney Visa, you only get the 2% with certain purchases (such as gasoline and groceries). For everything else, you get the same 1%.

It's my understanding there's currently a promo for the Premier Disney Visa card to get an extra 3% for the first 3 months, but I have no idea where this promo is being offered.

Ah, I did find this on Disney's website:

Get more of the Disney you love with 2% earn

With Disney's Premier Visa Card, earn 2% in reward dollars on card purchases at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and most Disney locations.

Earn 1% on all your other card purchases.

Thanks all!! I appreciate you walking me through this. I'm still going to wish that they had better rewards ;) but I'll compare it to a few other cards.

That's what I meant. :)

The offer I got for the Premium card included the extra 3%. It came in the mail.
