Disney Cartridges for the Cricut

This is the first time I have posted on this board and I hope to get to know all you better. I just bought my first cricut(haven't gotten it yet, cause JoAnn's was out of them so I had to special order it). My question is about the Disney cartridges, I bought the Disney font one and the mickey and friends one. I wanted to know how does it work, with it not being color how do you get the different colors for the characters? I know I could probably wait to get it but was sure I could get my answer here. Thanks in advance!

It will be a lot easier to understand once you have the machine and book for the cart. You will use different pieces of paper. The order doesn't matter, but first I cut the black base of the character. Then red paper to cut Mickey's shorts, then yellow paper for his shoes, flesh tone for his skin and then whites for hands, eyes etc. The cricut cuts each of these pieces separately.

When you are first experimenting with cutting the characters, I suggest doing them in a larger size (5 inches or larger), because there can be some very small parts, and it can get frustrating if you can't figure out where the pieces go. Once you have done them in a larger size, then it is easier to do them at a smaller size.

That is good advice.

You will have to get used to changing the settings too. Come back and ask questions once it arrives.
