My son's 7:00 phone call did not come

Has i come yet? Mine was 20 mins late...

Having to wait all over again would be terrible- but at least he knows they have the right number this time!

Tell him not to be too bummed. Steph's friend missed her first call and they even had the correct number. She has no idea what happened and she was waiting patiently by the phone. When the call never came, she contacted them and had to reschedule as well. It will all work out.

Thank you very much and I will try to get my mom on she just doesn't ever use the computer. But we'll see.

My name is Jenny and I am joining Disboards and this thread because we just found out today that my daughter was accepted for the Fall CareerStart session! She is so excited! She will be in Attractions. We are excited for her and, also, a little nervous because we live in Massachusetts, so it will be pretty far away. The good thing is we already have a trip planned for August 22 to September 1 and now we will just maybe extend it a few days...how horrible...to make sure she is all set! Anyway, it doesn't seem real yet...she has been talking about this for a couple of years now and defending her decision to people who don't understand how she wanted to try this before college. I look forward to everyone's advice!

Hi Jenny and congratulations to your daughter. I am sure she is excited! I know the feeling of being far, we are in Indiana and it will be difficult to have Stephanie so far away. But I know we will manage. We will be arriving August 29th and will be staying until September 5th! We didn't have any trips planned this year to Disney so this worked out well for the entire family.

We have some family members who also do not fully understand Stephanie's decision to try CareerStart first but I told Stephanie that she needs to do what is right for her, and not for anybody else. I think this experience will give this kids such a valuable learning experience and it will look awesome on a resume.

Hi Jenny! Welcome aboard! I know my son was (and still IS) excited to be actually working for his favorite place on earth! My son will be a life guard.

Very cool that you already had a family trip planned for the same time she needs to check in!
Ours didn't work out that way- DH & I already had trips f our own planned. But we are finding a way to get him there on time and make sure he is settled.

I know the feeling of being far, we are in Indiana and it will be difficult to have Stephanie so far away.

Oh- where in Indiana are you located? We have family there and my oldest son just graduated from Purdue.

Hey Linda, we are about just under 1 1/2 hours north(depending on who is driving) of Purdue in La Porte Indiana. My oldest daughter goes to IUPUI in Indianapolis but her degree will be from Purdue University. One of my nieces also attends Purdue but she won't graduate for another year from the school of Pharmacy.
