We are looking to rent a car for 24 hours to go to the Kennedy Space Center with our little ones. Question is this.... does anyone know how long it takes to get their shuttle, get over there, get your car and get back to Wilderness Lodge? Ballpark? We are trying to keep the rental to 24 hours so want to pick up Sat. at 5:30pm and return Sun. at 5:30pm. The weekend hours at the care center are evidently shorter hours, and we would like to know if we have time to make ADR's for dinner in Epcot the evening we pick up the car... we have 2 little ones so would want earlier dinner ressies. Didn't want to deal with picking the car up the next morning because we made ADR for early character meal before leaving for Space Center.

Also, if you know, how tough to drive from WL to GF for the breakfast? We thought we would do that and leave straight from bkfst.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

I would ask for the shuttle to pick you up at 5pm or after - the CCC is actually right after the entrance to MK, so practically next door to WL. And the GF is also very close to WL, so no problem driving there at all. If you're renting through Alamo, check in online before your trip, and then use the kiosk when you get there, saves tons of time. When you check in, you can get a pamphlet with a WDW map showing all the routes around the resorts and parks - it's very easy to drive around Disney! And when you return your car, you can fill it up right beside the CCC at the Hess station and park it. Enjoy your trip!

If you want to have dinner at Epcot, have you checked on renting the car from Alamo/National and picking it up at the Dolphin. Their rates may be a little cheaper than at the CCC (at least they were for the date I tried for). You could walk over after dinner, get the car, drive back to the WL and then return it the next night. You could then just walk or boat over to the Studios and hop on a WL bus to get back. There is also the Hess station right next to the Boardwalk Resort that you could use just before returning the car.
