Just got a call from a co-worker who was set to stay at AKL and do some food and wine stuff later this week/weekend. Dining called her first to cancel, then she called AKL and they said they were going to cancel her ressies, too.

Be sure to call before leaving if you have any plans!

I hope this is being reported in error. We'll be in the area already, staying one place Friday night, another Saturday night (rooms are getting hard to come by--book now if you need to!) and are supposed to move to WL Sunday for three nights. We had originally been scheduled to arrive midday Sunday, but decided we'd rather ride it out in ORlando than get stranded in the Carolina's or GA.

Yes, we could stay in the house, but the gas isn't being turned on until Tuesday, most of the furniture is being delivered that day as well, so we were planning on staying at WDW until the house is "liveable".

I know I shouldn't complain, many have lost so much with Charley, and I'm sure many more will lose so much with Frances, but it's becoming frustrating--we've encountered delay after delay with this project.

If anyone else hears anything, please let us know.

Anne

Like I said, it was a brief conversation so I don't have all the details, but I do know dining contacted her to cancel. I hope it's an error, too.

Did she say why she was canceled?

It sounds weird, because dining and hotel are usually unrelated. I have canceled and changed my ressie several times for my upcoming trip and my dining PS' have never been affected by changing hotel plans.

Even if she had a UPH pass, the PS is unrelated.

It just sounds very odd.

I am a travel Agent and we have a ton of calls all day about people going to Florida. The official word With Disney as of about 20 minutes ago is there is NO change to the standard cancellation and refund policy as of yet. They are monitoring the hurricane and this may change at a later date like it did for Charley. Your friend may want to double check on this cancellation becasuse Disney told us no cancellations right now with out penalities.

Perhaps your friend was referring tojust the food and wine event. My parents were set to go over for a long weekend. They were going to stay at Ft. Wilderness and attend the food and wine event at the California Grill. However, my Mom received a call from Disney this morning stating that the food and wine event was canceled. Their Ft. Wilderness reservations, however, are status quo as of right now.

I called to change my first night to Thursday (no problem) and asked, since I had heard that later. I was told there have been no cancellations on their dies, nor are any planned in the forseeable future.

So we'll see. If so, I'll have no place to sleep.

I've read that a few times on various WDW boards. It is a food & wine even that is affected, not room reservations.

but a friend of mine is. She just called to cancel/postpone. Disney said they would change it with no cancellation fee.

We are Fairfield owners and FF called to tell me they are cancelling my reservations for Ocean Walk REsort in daytona! Man i think they should have waiting till tomorrow myself. WE had three two bedroom units books for Labor Day weekend!!!!! Hope all is well with everyone. If they lift this mess i'll just call and rebook if the storm turns west more. I hope all you guys in the deep south of florida are save and sound. WE are 90 miles north of jacksonville and at the least we expect heavy rains at this time. And moderate wind. I'm just hoping once it hits some of those island it will break up it could happen right? My best to all my dis friends for a safe Labor Day weekend.

The Food and Wine festival starts October 1st. Is this something different? Or perhaps a misunderstanding?
