Disney cancelled my Vero Beach 2 bedroom

I received a call from Disney MS yesterday indicating that due to the remodeling they will not have my 2 bedroom villa next week. I reserved it 11 months ago now they want to move us into 2 Ocean View Inn Rooms. They did offer a discount for the room.

I was just wondering if anyone else had their room cancelled?

Disappointed as this will be our first trip to VB and was looking for to a 2 br for the 6 of us. Oh well at least we'll be at VB then to the World.

I would demand a huge discount and an enormous food and beverage credit. Having two inn rooms you are losing your space, your tub and your kitchen. But hey those are just my thoughts. Things do happen but how they react and compensate you will make all the difference.

They have cut the price in half and given us breakfast voucher for each day of our stay. We are there 4 nights then off to the BCV where we have a 2 dedicated 2 BR reserved. The stat at the VB Inn will make that seem huge.

There was another post recently with a similar experience.

For what it's worth, I had a 2br at Vero and decided that in the future we would book the 2 OV Inn Rooms. Our villa was overlooking parking and minigolf, and a friend had an OV room which was very spacious and had a beautiful ocean view. Personally, I would prefer the guaranteed view. Hopefully you will be pleased with the 2 OV rooms, but I think they should offer you reasonable compensation, especially with such short notice.

Did they refund your 2 bedroom points in full, and then charge you half points for the Inn rooms? Or was this on cash?

I think I would have pushed for dinner vouchers too...

Cash ressie. We did get $100 resort credit for a dinner.

Gosh! I'm sorry to read that they canceled your 2 bedroom.

Now I'm worried, we have ressie for the 25th - 3rd in a 2 bedroom also. But if they have to cancel us we'll take one of the Grand Villa .
I originally booked the GV but decided to down size.

No matter where they put us it will be fine the resort is beautiful.

When "Jean" from MS contacted me they indicated that we would have OV connecting rooms. So I'll take her at her word for now. I'm just glad to be going to the beach for a few days prior to WDW.

We just got back tonight. They have building 15 closed.We were called last week about our 1 bdrm. We ended up with the 1 bdrm and had an excellant time. This was also our first trip. If you have an oceanview room and it is anything like the view from the Green Cabin Room I am sure you will love it. We could see the ocean to the left and right of our room but the bushes were alittle too tall for a complete ocean view from our 2nd floor room. Did I say we loved Vero! In retrospect I am sure that we would have been fine in an OVI room. We did cook breakfast each morning and once for dinner so we really enjoyed the space in the 1 bdrm. Have a great trip!

Well that's good. Have a wonderful time...we love VB, both of us, and DH isn't a shore person, but he feels he totally relaxes there.

The ocean view rooms look directly at the ocean (but be sure to request "full ocean view" so that you don't get view of the pool and just a glimpse of the ocean.) Just us, but we've decided that we will only book those rooms or - maybe one in a lifetime - a cottage. I'm sure the 2 bedroom units are nice inside, but the ocean view inn rooms have the best views!
