Disney canceled my Oga's reservations. Anyone else?

honestly if they knew which reservations were cancelled, why couldn’t they just rebook them???
My guess is that they overbooked for January (or had to lower capacity for some reason), and decided the fairest method was to cancel all of the existing reservations and let people rebook.

Not a cheap move for them, so it had to be something major.

I am impressed, If I am a no show Disney charges me $10 per person, since they are a no show giving me $25 gift card is most welcome. While I am disappointed not to be able to visit this next trip (no reservations available by the time I found out) I have been a couple times on both coasts and know I will get to again in the future.

I agree. I really appreciate the gesture. I go often so the sting of missing the reservation is less for me but I admit I was surprised they thought to offer the gift card.

My SIL had her 1/1 Oga’s canceled and she was unable to rebook so that was a big bummer. I had four Oga’s in January for a family trip and all were canceled and I got $25 per cancelation so $100 😳 I was able to rebook one so at least there is that.

Why do so many of you have multiple oga reservations? I have just one in last week of December, which thankfully wasn’t cancelled.

must be why reservations runout so quickly.

guess it worked out well for many who got multiple gift cards.

I don't know about other people, but I have 2 Oga's reservations because I have a 3 day 1 park ticket and I have reservations for Disneyland Main Park on 2 of my days. I have 1 Oga's reservation for each of my Disneyland Main Park days.

i wasn’t implying it’s a bad thing, only that it at least partly explains why reservations run out so quickly. I didnt even think to try to book the same place more than once during our 3 day trip.

and hey, if you really want to go to ogas twice, that’s cool.
or contrariwise, if you did it because you are not sure which day worked out better for you, that’s cool too.

I have two because I have two potential trips on the schedule for late January, but I still don't know which one's going to happen. (Partly because D23 is dragging their heels on announcing the details of their late January events.) Since everything fills up 60 days out, I had to book both, or I might not have made it in at all.

Having said that, I've been on trips where I went twice. (Though, usually, I'll scoop a reservation day-of.) I've got a couple of things I like there, and it can be a nice evening-ender.

Thats why I love being solo in the parks, I can make reservations for the same dining places on different days. I'm also the person who will , depending on the standby line wait time, repeat ride something multiple times in a row. My best was Peter Pan in Disneyland Paris during early opening for hotel guests. While everyone else queued up for character meets I spent about 40 minutes on Peter Pan, the CM's even let me stay on, when they realized I was just walking back in through the queue when I got off.

When you are not solo you can't do things like that as you have to balance what you want to do with what others want to do.

For me it was a couple of things. We've never been to Oga's and I'm pretty sure we'll want to go twice during our 5 day trip. We are huge Star Wars fans. Since we have to book 60 days out it's hard to know which days we'll be in which park etc. I booked for each day just to be sure I had them and cancelled as we got closer and I figured out my plans. The week I'm going, Oga's reservations didn't all get snapped up at 3am 60 days out. There were still alot even a few weeks after the 60 day mark. Availibility must just depend on when you're going. I lost them all yesterday, though.

Have been shut out of Oga’s on both previous trips and finally got a reservation for this trip (which will likely be our last for a few years). $25 doesn’t remotely make up for the disappointment. We’ve got 1 day in DL and 1 day in DCA without hoppers so I’m doubtful we’ll find a reservation pop up on the single day we will be there. We’re not sprinting to GE with our 5 year old niece at open to get on a waitlist so guess it’s shutout #3.

I think you can get on the waitlist on the app. So sorry this happened. What day are you going? Maybe somebody with multiple reservations will give you theirs.

You don't have to sprint over to get on the waitlist. We were there in October and November, both during busy weekends, and there was waitlist availability after 10:00 a.m. And we noticed that at one point the waitlist said closed, and then it opened up again a bit later. But being on the waitlist you'll probably be placed at the bar, which is hard with a 5 yo.

I thought we still had to get close to Oga’s to get on the waitlist in the app? If it’s just inside the park gate then I’m being dramatic for no reason and we’ll definitely be trying that way. We’re there Jan 11 but I almost don’t want to say that because I’d feel super guilty if someone actually offered their reservation.

Thats awesome! Thanks for the info.

Not ideal but I guess we can grab a drink to go and at least get to see it for the first time.

You do have to be close by but you can go check it out anytime of day. Sometimes it’s open and taking names and sometimes not but you can just check back later. I love oga’s but it’s hard with a 5 year old as it is standing only and the bar top will be above their head. I still make my kid go on occasion lol.

You do have to be close (like within Galaxy’s Edge), but you don’t necessarily have to be there first thing, is what I was trying to say.

Also, once you’re on the waitlist don’t go too far away. We saw someone lose their place because they didn’t come back within 10 minutes of being called.
