disney cams what happened?

A couple of years ago disney had live park cams that I would just sit and watch in my spare time and envy the people at the park. I really enjoyed seeing the people having a BLAST at Disney. What happened.

I think they were discontinued for "security" reasons.

That would explain it. Forgot about 9/11 there for a second. Too bad. It would have been a nice Disney Fix from time to time.

They usually keep them updated as much as possible.

Hope they bring back the old cams though

Hmmm... It makes you wonder if security really was the reason they were stopped. Judging from that website posted by wlausm, the last pics that were taken by the old Disney web cams were on 05/25/01, a few months prior to 9/11.

Is it just me or does anyone else find the Disney.com site a confused mess. I can no longer find anything that I used to love to surf through and it is slower than, you know!

I guess that they more or less geared the site for broadband but those of us that do not have it and don't even have access are being short changed.

Once in a while I will go to the site and try to just look at the stuff offered and it takes so long to download that I just lose my patience and log off. Like I said, it may just be me but I seldom go to the site anymore and I used to be there all the time.

I'm with you. I do not like it at all. Like you, I used to check it out a lot but now I do not go there unless I have to. I just don't like the way it is set up. Also, for me personally (I am legally blind) the dark backgrounds do not provide enough contrast to the print and I can barely read some of it. Just my two cents!

Well at least the epcot cam from the Swan hotel is still working. Thanx for the link.

I recently was at Disneyworld.com and they asked me to complete a quick survey. One of the questions was "Would you be interested in park cameras" or something along those lines. Anyway, I entered EXTREMLY INTERESTED! So they may be considering bringing them back. Fingers crossed.

Hey BelleNJ, i did that same survey!

They asked if the webcams would increase your number of visits to their website. I of course answered YES!!!!

I hope they come back, but i am not holding my breath.
