I was trying to see if they had space available at the campground(not the cabins) online but I was not able to.

Does anyone know if this is possible or do I just need to call?

Thanks in adavance.:thanks:

I'd call, as it might depend on the time period that you are specifically looking at.

When I booked our trip I looked online and then called to actually book the vacation. I did that through the disney site. But I would just actually call because they have the same info and it would skip a step. Also they are really helpful if you are a first timer which I was. Good Luck!pixiedust: pixiedust:

Keep calling early in the morning everyday....Reservations that are cancelled show up the next morning and you never know, you may just get lucky...:thumbsup2

Yes, you can book online but if campsites are not coming up as available that probably means that it is booked for the dates you are requesting. We tried the website but campsites were not being shown as an option. So we called and were told that it was booked solid for Feb. 2008 . It was hard for us to believe being a year away but sadly it is true. Goodluck.

I just called this AM to make ressies for Oct 07 and was told that this is no longer the case. As soon as a ressie is cancelled it now goes immediately back into the system. I was only able to get one of the nights I wanted but he told me to call back at all times of the day!

Isn't is so nice of the snowbirds to book 3 and 4 months at a time so the rest of us can't make any trips there!!!!!

Yes, it seems to me that there should be a length of stay limit on the campground, so that more people would get a chance to share in the magic.
I guess if we really want to go, we may have to stay in a hotel. :sad2:

That is our back up plan for Oct 07. We are trying to go for a long weekend for dd bday. So far we have one night... if we can't get the other 2 we are just going to go to one of the hotels. The CM I talked to today agreed with the time limit. You know the snowbirds don't spend the money in the parks like the people who just come for a vacation. Oh well!!

I agree that it's getting really tough to get a site. I have a site reserved for March, June and Thanksgiving weekend. I made the ressies well in advance.

I heard that are going to expand FW and if they do it should be to accomodate the big rigs that stay for months at a time and give us the reg. sites back. Just my .02

We have labor day weekend and thanksgiving week booked already. I figured 8 months in advance for a non holiday weekend should have been good enough!!
I agree about the expansion.. the CM told me today to put my .02 in the suggestion box about the tenants... oh I mean snowbirds!!!

I got two weeks in a partial hookup site for October 2007. I booked back in January.

Someday, I also hope to be one of those snowbirds. I will be booking those dates 500 days out. (Actually 470, because I don't want to call every day, just once a month).

To me the one night deposit for the campground is low enough, that I'm willing to let Disney hold that money.

If Disney starts to feel that the 500 day booking window is too long, then they will shorten it, but until that time, I'll just book early so I can get the dates that I want.

I sure wish I had a RV and could stay for 4 months I would be in heaven.:cloud9: I have to settle for a cabin for 10 days.;)But at lest I get my Fort Wilderness fix.

Some day I hope to be one of those snowbirds, too! "When you wish upon a star ... "

I have been calling for Jan 08 for the marathon weekend and no luck. I have been told those dates haven't been released and no availablity for those dates.

So I will keep on trying every day:)

I hope to be one of those snowbirds starting in November 08. Can't wait to start making my reservations for 4 months. Does anyone know if there is a limit to the length of each reservation. I seem to remember someone (maybe Carol) stating that there was a 30 day limit on a reservation so multiple reservations are necessary. Anybody know??

The limit on a reservation is 14 nights. So you will need many reservations.

Nope it's 29 nights. I just tried on the website for October 1 -30 and it showed all three levels of campsites and was ready to take a deposit.

When I tried 30 nights, it kept defaulting back to 5 nights, so 29 nights, 30 days is the limit.

Now, I'm not sure what the limit is on AAA rates or Passholder rates. I currently have 14 nights at AAA rates.

Thanks Carol. I'm hoping to get AAA rates, they are much easier to get ahead of time - AP rates are too hard to come by. If DH gets part time work at Disney, possibly we will be able to get CM rates. Not sure how they compare to AAA rate. Does anyone know what kind of discounts CMs get on campsites?
