This morning I got a phone call from Disney confirming my reservations for next week. They asked if I had two rooms (I do) and verified my arrival date. This is our fourth trip and I don't remember ever getting this type of call. Anyone else get a confirmation call? :confused3

I've never gotten a "confirmation" call but last year after my trip in September, I did get a call from someone at their corporate offices asking about my trip and the email that I had sent post trip commending everyone at WDW for making our trip such a success. It was a huge surprise and a personal phone call like that, for any reason, is a good feeling! I hope you have a fabulous trip!

They maybe booking up and are calling to make sure everyone's a show. It maybe possible that they overbooked.

I've stayed on site plenty of times and not once I ever gotten a phone call to confirm my reservation.

Perhaps they wanted to ensure that they were not accidently holding an extra room for you that they could give to someone else?

I got a call about a week or 2 before our June trip this year confirming our reservations. We had a Grand Gathering, so I thought that was the reason why I got the call. Do you have a Grand Gathering?

Okay, that explains it. I was worried about :confused3 oh I don't know about what, it just seemed kind of funny. One of our party is not linked and I wish I could convince them to add the Grand Gatherings number to their ressies. Who knows maybe they really don't want to be known to hang around with us. :rotfl: Don't know why, cuz we are such fun people. LOL

Does that mean you have to be related to everyone in your Grand Gathering? Can't it be family & friends too? :confused3

It can be any combination of people (minimum of 8) - I've heard of families who've never met before joining together to qualify for a Grand Gathering!!

We were all related with the exception of my daughter's friend, but it can be friends also. Like RachelTori said, just have to have 8 or more. We had 12 in our party.

WishinOnaStar, they should call to get on the Grand Gathering number since they put you all in rooms that are near to each other. We were right next to each other with two of the rooms connecting (our request).
