The official disney calendar has hours 9a-12a and under that it says "Extra Magic Hours" and thats a link that shows you the whole EMH schedule for the year.

So is the 12a the EMH (it doesn't say that!) Or is the EMH mean they are open til 3am????????

look at July 21. It says 9a-12a AND it has EMH. Is 12a the EMH? And so it "really" closes at 9p?

On New Years Eve MK was open til 1 am for the public and open til 4 am for EMH. I kid you not. I talked to my parents about it, and I was like who in their right might would stay awake that late to do that... well except if you work third shift or something and are used to it.

Nope, not guessing. DH and I have been there for an EMH when the park closed at midnight and then had EMH until 3am. Man were we tired the next day! It's true though. All of the hours on any of the calendars are the regular park hours not including morning or evening EMH!

Been riding Buzz Lightyear at 2 AM a few times. THe kids love it (they are all teens now). DH and I have a much harder time with it.

LAst Easter we were at MK at 2:30 am...so yes...my boys were 6yo..(they had taken a nap in the afternoon, and did not get up until 10 the next day)...but it is great. I rode Dumbo for the 1st time ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
The boys all got to go on Splash 3 times in a row...we did Haunted Mansion , which even later at night made it even spookier...BTMRR was awsome...Buzz Fantastic. I love the evening hours...on vacation I am not a morning person. :thumbsup2

OK being at the MK at 3AM would be so cool! I've gotta do it. There must be some great photo ops then.

When they had E-Ride nights many times we went to them and stayed until 3am. The hours listed are regular operating hours, so Extra Magic would be after that.

The sad thing were the parents who kept very small children up that late, and it was not pleasant for anyone.

Curious, why would photo ops be better at 3am? :confused3

Uh, fewer people in the background... it's like having the park to yourself with only a thousand other people as opposed to sharing it with 25,000+ of your "friends."

Same here! Amazingly we ran into a family we had not seen in many years there at 1am!! There was an exciting yet eerie quality to the park when it's that late. It is darker because not everything is open and everything is a walk-on. What a blast it is!

Yep, we were there last Spring Break & thought maybe we'd only stay an extra hour...You guessed it--We were there until 3! I have a picture of a couple of my kiddos laying on the sidewalk on Main Street while we were waiting for the rest of our crew! The thing that amazed me was how many others stayed that whole time, too...It was still quite busy!

I am now excited to go late again on our upcoming trip in June! :Pinkbounc

not that I had time to take a photo (what with screaming and so on!) but the view from the top of the drop on Splash Mt. at night is AMAZING and would make an incredible picture.

Do the Characters stay up that late? It seems like there would be much fewer of those pesky little kids to get in my way at that time!!! LOL

Yes they do!! I got pictures with Mickey and Minnie (together, in front of the castle), Chip and Dale, Goofy, Terk and Rafiki, and Gov. Ratcliff and Meeko. And there were NO LINES (except for Mickey/Minnie). These are from New Year's Day (I was there til 3 am!!) :thumbsup2

This was the best. Since there was no line, Chip and Dale started fooling around with one of the Disney strollers. They were pushing each other in front of the castle, and I got to push Dale. Everyone was laughing!! :lmao:
