Has anyone had a cake made by Disney?
We was thinking of having a bambi cake made or a replica of the top tier of our wedding cake. I know theres a massive cake thread over on the restaurant section of the boards. Was just curious to see if anyone over here had 1 made ?
Would you recommend it? which bakery was used to make your cake as i know some are better than others

Thanks guys :goodvibes

Do you know which bakery was used? Did you pick cake up or have it delivered to restaurant?
I ve looked over that thread so many times & always love what i see but i ve read mixed reviews on how some of the cakes taste.
Has anyone requested a special design, if so did you call or email your ideas?

Its always good hearing peoples experiences from the same side of the pond :thumbsup2

No idea where it was made, DW ordered it to be delivered to the restaurant. It was OK but I am not a big cake fan.

We ordered a cake for delivery at California Grille which had a mickey mouse cake topper and it was amazing. I spoke to Brian the chef at Contemporary who organised the whole thing.

The picture is on the cake thread somewhere. I think it cost me about $120

I think from memory anything at the GF is made at the GF bakery.

My DH surprised me with a cake for my 30th at Ohanas a few years ago, he spoke to someone at the GF to organize it, sorry don't have a picture.

He's already told me he's going to get me a cake for my birthday/anniversary on our next trip and asked what I wanted, we're staying at the GF so will probably get it through them. Red velvet cake mmmm:woohoo:

I think there is a phone number over on the cake forum to call and get it organized, I'm sure you can also pre pay, I know DH did.

We've had 3 cakes so far, 2 at Park Fare and one at 'Ohana. All 3 of them have tasted really nice. However 2 of the 3 didn't have the design etc that was requested and one of them was the wrong size. So if you have your heart set on a specific design you may not get what you ask for!

I had one from 1900 Park Fair and it was lovely, I didn't want to cut it.

I'm not sure if it's still correct but when Iwas looking to order mine in 2009 the Grand Floridian and Contep bakerys were having the best reviews.

I ordered my cake and then confirmed the details by email. Sorry loads of photos

We had a cake ordered for our anniversary last time we were there. I can't tell you about prices or where it came from as DW organised it all.
I do know however that it tasted really good. Surprisingly light considering how heavy and chocolate laden it looked.
She was also quite specific in what she wanted and really wanted it to reflect our two favourite characters and spent time on the phone first to one of the operators on the dining number, who then passed her details onto one of the chefs who called her back and spent a long time talking through what she wanted. We then had it delivered to the boat that we had hired for the Wishes cruise.
There are some pics of our cake HERE
