Help !!!!!!!

Has anyone done WDW by air?.Just been reading about the helicopter tours from I-Drive and sound great.Think it would give a whole new perspective seeing all the disney properties from 1000ft up.

any feed back good or bad very much appreciated

We have thought about it, but the trip over Disney was $80 each, and that was for 10 minutes. As there are 4 of us, that was a lot of money for 10 mins entertainment!

DH might take DD on the short trip over Sea World this year. Im not keen on "things that fly" so Im happy to stay grounded :).

I wouldn't mind doing it, but it is very expensive for 4 so I don't think we will.

I wish I had something of benefit to add but I dont as we have never done it. But I am giving you a bump because we too are considering it on our next trip ;)

If I remember rightly, after 9/11, Disney won a court case to close the air space over Disney for security reasons. Funnily enough, they then came up with their own " cornered market " version of Helicopter tours over Disney.

Not sure if this is still the case. :confused3

I did it pre 9/11 and it was fantastic!. It was a birthday treat for me from my DH..only cause he's a chicken and wouldn't do it himself ;)
If you can I would go for it.

thanks all

yes we have just checked the paperwork and we can go over all off disney apart from the MK.Its a $125 for 45 minutes takeing in everywhere so i think ill book a surprise and try and go in twilight in October

Hi Nick and Sara

Could you post the website you found the info out about the helicopter ride? Many thanks.

Wow! Thanks for the link. I too thought that all airspace over WDW was restricted.

DH wants to give this a try in August, I have sent them an email for furhter details.

Thanks for posting!

We did a helicopter tour over the Orlando area when my wife was pregnant. The tour lasted about half an hour and cost roughly $220 + tip. We went over to Universal first and hovered above our hotel (HRH) to take some photos. Then over to MK (looks so small from the air), Boardwalk, Epcot, TL, BB, AK, MGM, Downtown Disney. Then over the premium outlet malls to Discovery cove and Sea World, then hovered about 30 ft above the I4 before coming into land next to Race Rock on I-Drive.

IMHO It was a great experience, but something we probably wouldn't do again. At the time my wife couldnt do the rides so we decided on doing something different.

Thanks Paul

Can you really take great pics and vidoes up there?

Are we that low?

Hope not id be getting cold feet @ that low!!!!!!!

Yes, you can get some great pics and video up there. Most of the time the pilot is telling you about the area through your headset (stuff you usually already know).

What made me laugh was, after spending over $220+ with the company for less than half an hours work, there is still a "TIPS" box on the dashboard of the helicopter. Surely this is the tipping culture gone crazy? The pilot was the owner BTW.
