Disney...by Land and Sea...Morris Style!

Glad to see that you were able to see a doctor who was able to help you.

We were REALLY lucky that Dr Mike was there on Sunday!

I will now go into a mini rant about ERs... when you go in with pain, they give you a narcotic for the pain...even BEFORE they really see what the actual problem is...then they (the ER) complains that people make return visits for 'pain management'. Their thought is that you are obviously coming in for drugs! My thought is...find out WHY there is pain before you write them off as drug addicts!

And that...is pretty much the attitude they took with Miss B when we got there the second time! The girl that suffered for hours because she was afraid they would give her the same meds as before and DID NOT WANT IT!

OK...off my soapbox and mini rant!

On to Disney news...

I finally paid off the land portion of the trip. I know I have been saying I was doing that for months, but since I had to (gulp) put it on the credit card, I wanted to make sure I waited as long as I could so I would have a better chance of paying it off without a finance charge! Because I am cheap like that!

Now if I could just come up with a good packing plan...

I got to play with Miss Mia yesterday! we had a blast. She loves to talk to me on the phone, but in person she is very hesitant around me. I don't scoop her up the way some people do, because I know she doesn't like that...so I let her come to me. Yesterday she spent a good portion of the day sitting in my lap and watching tv! We taped Minnie Mouse and the Wizard of Dizz...and she loved it...over and over...I think we may have watched it 3 or 4 times! (remember, she lives in a no tv home!)

The rest of the week her other grand parents will be in town and she will get to spend some quality time with them.

Now to get ready for Therapy!

yucko...

Hi...MY name is Nini and I have a weakness...I am addicted to Packing cubes!

Yes...I got an email on Monday that had a $15 off $50 purchase from Ebags...and I just HAD to get some more! My packing cubes have been commandeered by other members of the family. And as a result they are 'missing'.

There is no way I can get the packing done properly without more packing cubes! So I bought some more...this time I got some yellow ones...I now have red, black and yellow...I wonder what the significance is of those colors! LOL

I got a little farther on the planning yesterday...in other words I realized how close the trip is getting and I have nothing ...NOTHING packed!

My goal is to have the packing lists completed by this weekend and get them printed out (which of course means I need to go buy some more ink!) and to put the individual packing list into the appropriate bag. After I see the paper in each bag it will help me decide on the tweaking of the lists...then, later (maybe today) when my packing cubes come in I can start filling them up and the packing process will have actually begun!

While the major pacing will be finished this weekend, there will still be tweaking and reorganizing going on...and maybe some purchasing of another bag or two. Not really sure about that! But I do know the last week before we go I will go through all the bags and prohibit anyone from opening them again! Since we have a day off school on the Monday before we go..Columbus Day perhaps(?), that will be everyone's drop dead deadline. After that time nothing of theirs will get packed!!

In my previous life I was in insurance for a very large multi-national company. I was a supervising underwriter for a department of about 20 people. My specialty was organization. I was in charge of making sure everything got done in a timely manner....so I had different classes of deadlines. The first deadline was always before the actual legal deadlines, and then there was a series of deadlines leading up to the drop dead date.... that was the date (usually the day or two before the legal deadline) that I pushed the button to issue the policy...the only way it could not be ready is if you dropped dead! My department had the best rate of the entire company for timely issuance of policies with the LEAST number of mistakes!

Anyway, the drop dead date has stayed a part of my life!

Aren't you glad you read all the way to the end to learn that useless fact of my life! LOL!!!

Anyway, Packing is about to commence in the Morris Household!

Nini

Well, yesterday started out as a wasted day.

My husband had unplugged my phone at midnight (when it had a 100% charge) and by 5 am it was dead. After spending 5 hours to charge it, it only had a 75% charge. Doing the math, it was taking longer to charge it than to use it! (either that or we have ghosts that used my phone all night long!)

So, I went to the TMobile store to see what they could do...three hours later, I was a frustrated mess! The diagnostics took 30% of my battery and said nothing was wrong! The person behind the desk said I had insurance and would have to pay a $225 deductible to gt a new phone, and called the insurance company and gave me the phone...to which the insurance company said I did not have insurance on that phone (which I KNEW!).

Decided to go home and call...since the store was super BUSY and the worker was useless...

They put me right in touch with their Apple department and he quickly determined it was either a software issue or a hardware issue...but not necessarily a battery issue. He could see the diagnostics that they ran in the store and he said it clearly showed a problem. (at this point I was wondering why the store could not see this!)

So we had to rule out which type of problem it was... had to back up the phone and restore it as a new phone. Another three hours without my phone. (remember I have no land line!)

Luckily, in between this time I did manage to get in a couple of phone calls....more about that later...

So, finally I start the counter...how long is it going to take before my phone dies... If it stays up with a normal usage, it is probably a software problem...if it dies quickly it is a hardware problem. I want my phone to last at least until the new ones come out, because I need more storage.

One hour and 31 minutes into the test and my battery is at 54%. One hour and 44 minutes into the test and my battery is at 44%. One hour and 50 minutes into the test and my battery is at 30%...not looking good!

I grabbed my husband's phone and call Customer Care back and start the process. My new phone will be here sometime today. I still do not have a working phone, and will have to wait for this one to get here to set it up and charge it...but I hope to have a working phone by tomorrow!

I tried to get them to let me upgrade to more memory ...and she thought I was just trying to get a new phone...so I got a long lecture about how if they found nothing wrong with the phone they would charge me a $300 something fee... obviously they did not catch on to the fact that I wanted to wait until the new phones came out!

I will still have to get a new phone in January, but at least I will have a working phone now!

On to the few phone calls I was able to get .... My military Salute tickets are at Camp Pendelton!!! They gave me the UPC codes off the backs so I could go ahead and get my FP+. Yes, even though we are at 40 ish days, there were still a few things available. No Mine Train, but I can deal... I got those done and attempted to enter them into Touring Plans ....I really don't think I like this so much. It kept telling me my times were wrong and I should change them for this time or that time... (as if I had a choice! LOL!) And it flat out told me it was NOT using them! LOL...

But at least now that I know I have them I can plan around them (regardless of what TP says!)

....and another phone call was again from Camp Pendelton! But it went to Voice mail as I was on the phone with TMobile...it was the tracking number for my Fed Ex package with my tickets!

So...one of the major stumbling blocks for this trip's planning has been taken care of! SO SO VERY HAPPY!

Of course, some how I managed to completely forget that 2 of those 6 tickets were supposed to have WP&M... and did not get them that way...oooops. Guess husband is going to have to enjoy the pools at AKL!

Now to get the kids up and off to school....I have some serious work issues to get finished up on!

Nini

Love packing... Love, love, love it! And yay for more packing cubes!!! We loved ours - and I will definitely be getting more before our next trip - they are awesome!

Sadly - I have not unpacked from our trip... Well, I've unpacked my clothes to wash them - but otherwise everything else is packed... It's just too sad for me to unpack fully - with no trip coming... Well... :(

I hope Miss B is doing better now... Sick about the ERs and the meds - ours doesn't do that, usually.

LOL...If you love packing so much then tell me how I can pack for 4 large people to stay at 3 different places! There is a limit to how many bags will fit under the bed on the cruise... so I know I am plannin on only taking 2 bags. One overnight bag for the hotel prior to the cruise...and I REFUSE to allow my husband's 'redneck' packing of cardboard boxes when we get to AKL!

It is bad enough when he does that going into POFQ...but I would absolutely DIE if he did that during check in at AKL! He refuses to travel without his Keurig...so we have a small one we take on trips. It is not allowed on the cruise ship, so he is insisting on taking it into AKL...the problem is the original box has long since fell apart, So he grabs whatever box he can find and crams stuff into it!

We normally have a rest day planned and we do laundry for things like shorts and jeans so we don't have to take as much...but I do not have a real break day planned this trip, (I also do not like the way he does laundry on trips...he takes the largest bag we have and puts all the dirty in there, then after washing he crams it all back in there and brings back to the room...the laundry is clean ...sort of...but so wrinkled it is not worth it! Not to mention the fact that it might be smelly a wee little bit! LOL!)

I seriously don't know why this is such a hard thing for me to wrap my head around. GRRRRRR

Oh well, third world problems, right?

Nini

I made my FP+...actually a day or so ago, but I actually forgot about posting it!

I am not in love with my choices, but it works...

Epcot day -
Soarin' at 3pm
Figment at 3:40
Spaceship Earth at 8pm

Magic Kingdom Day
Pirates of Caribbean at 10:05
Big Thunder at 11:25
Splash at 12:25

Animal Kingdom Day
Expedition Everest at 12 noon
Dinosaur at 1
Safari at 2:50

Hollywood Studios
Toy Story at 12 noon
Star Tours at 1:35
Tower of Terror at 3

Notice, most of these are things I can not ride. AND...none of these are for me! Mine will have to wait until we get there since I cannot pick up my ticket until I get there and turn it into an AP... (It is complicated and I have already checked every possible way to make it happen and this is the only way!)

On our MK day, I am planning on heading over to Enchanted Tales with Belle while they are riding Big Thunder and Splash. It is something I want to do but no one else does...

I was waiting to make the FP+ selections...that was a key part of my planning. I was going to plug the FP+ info into Touring Plans and see what would magically happen...well the magic was...it told me that it would not use the FP I had because it would result in me waiting longer! LOL...even the stupid computer knows mine are bad!

It kept telling me to get one for the Mine Train...which I would gladly do ...IF there were any available! I now have six weeks to fine tune my daily plans, because TP definitely isn't doing what I had hoped it would do! (and while I love that 're-order' thing they have...it completely ignores what I put in there and does its own thing!)

Oh well!

And more research is happening today! And not the fun kind, the kind that is tons more important and zer o fun! My head starts to ache just thinking about having to do it!

I really should hire a research assistant... but then they would want to help with the FUN research as well...

And the work is coming along...sort of ...on my new office. I have to wait until someone can help me move furniture around. The furniture in the only upstairs bedroom gets moved into the basement, then the furniture in one of the middle floor rooms gets moved upstairs, then painting and new flooring go in that room...then I can move my furniture in!

I have made the decision on the walls, the flooring, and the fabric for the window treatments... and this is the stuff I want to get started on...not the hard part!

Our family summer vacation was supposed to be going to Destin (Miramar Beach) where my son and daughter in law ere planning on a vow renewal. We were going to stay at the same cottage we stayed at last year.

Just found out last night that they decided not to do that this year...but they are still going by them self to the beach.

The kids were pretty upset by the idea of not going as a family, so I decided to see what I could do to make a wonderful family summer vacation...

Up first was a driving trip to California to visit Disneyland (more research...right?) Because husband won't fly driving seemed best, until I started pricing everything out... and it would take forever!

Next came a driving trip of Florida's coast line. Again, started out great, but ended up being pretty expensive.

Then, I decided to look at a cruise...most of the good rates are gone for the time frame we wanted to go... but found a couple of good deals...

Now, Miss B has said she will not go on a second cruise, so I better go back to another plan!

I really need to come up with a plan that everyone agrees to...or I will end up spending the week with inlaws in Missouri!

(oh, the only suggestion Miss B had...she wants to go to New York City...)

Mr Truett Cathy has died at the ripe age of 91(?). While he never met me, he did manage to shape part of my life. The restaurant he first opened was just a mile or two from my house. It was called the Dwarf House. I loved it because it had a small doorway for the dwarfs to come in! Just the right size for a kindergartner!

Then, a year or so later, when he came up with his recipe for Chick Fil A...his first CFA restaurant was just a mile or so in the opposite direction from my house! Every other Friday night we would visit.

When I first started working somewhere that was not my mom's restaurant...aka at the mall... my lunch every single day was a Chick Fil A sandwich. I could get one for 99 cents and be able to eat it and people watch at the same time! That lasted for 3 years!

That mall is now gone. The original Dwarf House has changed into a regular Chick Fil A ... and there are more Chick Fil A's around town than you can count. They are now in 39 states.

I think I might go have lunch at Chick Fil A today...without the bun of course!

Be prepared for pictures! I am watching Miss Mia to day while Mommy goes to the dentist for a crown.... there WILL be pictures!

Nini

First... Minnesota is beautiful. :thumbsup2 It's not as far as California - and our weather here is still pretty good. ::yes:: So, my vote is for MN - and you can tell Miss B that. LOL

We do have a couple of CFAs around here - we just started getting them with in the last few years, sadly, I have never eaten at one.

Pics? I am not seeing any. LOL

I received your card yesterday, thank you! :lovestruc

well, I evidently am a liar! Miss Mia was at my house for a full 4 hours and I hardly got any pictures at all!

She is fascinated at looking at pictures on my phone. So we went through all 667 of them...

She is totally in love with Min Maow (normally known as Minnie Mouse) and she absolutely LOVES the Grand Princess...the very last picture on my phone is of Princess Alyssa (A Lah Lah in Miss Mia speak) and Min Maow... so we looked at that for over 3 hours...seriously!

So without further ado I will show that picture...

Now I did manage to get one measly little picture, and it is not a very good one... but she refused to look at the camera, and refused to sit or stand still.. so here goes...

10647065_10202401050819215_1552355750986329878_n.jpg

Had a very busy day and got absolutely nothing done! But I had a blast! Luckily Disney stays open late enough tonight that I can call them after dinner to verify the things I need to do!

You know, I 'might' be able to sell Minnesota by the fishing to husband, but I am pretty sure the kids would be a bit more difficult! LOL... In fact Miss B had a comment similar to...that is where the statue of a spoon and cherry is...seen all the pictures no desire to go there! Even after telling her about the mall...nope...

Unfortunately... pictures did not go as planned, but in a good way! Normally when she is here the kids are here and all she wants to do is tell me hi and run to play. Since the kids were in school, she decided to hang out with me and look at pictures on my phone of the pretty baby. All 667 of them!

There were some pictures of her crying ...and she immediately told me I needed to read the baby a book because the baby was crying! In one picture there was an empty milk cup...hers...and she wanted me to get the baby some more milk... But the one that got her was the one with Alyssa and Minnie

I swear we spent 3 hours looking at that picture! She loves Minnie. We were watching MMCH on Disney at the time. She obviously did not like Minnie in pink. So looking at the Minnie from Chef Mickey made her happy...she knew that Mickey was on tv, but that was not Minnie! Minnie is supposed to wear red...not pink!

Then after a few minutes she realized the girl in the picture was A Lah Lah... on my word! She went crazy...it was like she had discovered the greatest secret on earth! As soon as her Momma got there to pick her up she had to show her the amazing picture that Memaw had! I sent the picture to her Momma so now she can bug Momma to see that picture.

Yes, I am planting the seed. The seed to have my grand daughter NEED to go to Disney to see Minnie!

Devious simply devious!

On the Disney planning front...I have only made ONE shirt for each of us this trip! The rest will be store bought and husband and Mr D are re-using a couple from previous trips. I feel like a failure! But I still have a few more shirts to get...and I still have a particular shirt I wanted to make for my birthday...but I don't see it happening!

(and all three of my married kids asked me what I want for my birthday and I gave them all the same answer...more grand children! I said I was going to start adopting them if they didn't give me some!)

Nini

I managed to get quite a bit accomplished to day!
we took a family shopping trip to get the last few clothing items we needed for the cruise/trip. Mr D has outgrown children's sizes and is now in men's size shorts. (Pants are still way too long for him) but we finally found some shorts (at KMart of all places) for him. I still need to find 2 or 3 more pairs, but he is well on his way!

Also bought a bunch of undies and socks. I am strange. I always get new undies and socks for the whole family each trip. It is just easier to put a new unopened pack of them in the luggage...I have heard too many horror stories about Moms getting to destination only to discover kids had raided the luggage and all socks and underwear was gone! If I am going to have to buy new, I had rather do it on MY terms than running through a store I am unfamiliar with!

I think we are now down to a couple of shirts for me, and maybe a new pair of sandals for me and every one gets a new pair of tennis shoes next week.

Next on the list...our cruise documents arrived today! I knew they were coming, but I did not expect FedEx to deliver on Saturday...so I am happy.

Then, I heard how Disney had changed a bunch of hours in October and November...so I decided it was time to finish up the daily park plans. I got all that done and put into Evernote so I can access it at Disney!

I was originally thinking I could modify Touring Plans to have what I wanted, but even though it would let me drag and change the order of rides, it would always go back and change it to the way it wanted. Totally useless!

I ended up with a hybrid plan of Touring Plans and EasyWDW. I strategically planned our DAS as well. With the exception of Epcot, it looks like we will rarely use the DAS...which is exactly what I want to do. My plan is to wean Mr D away from it so we can tour just relying on Fast Pass+. (Of course, our next trip will be a very busy week with much higher crowd levels, so not sure how that is going to work!)

One final thing I will be planning on finishing up this weekend is getting a battery back up for my phone. for my phone. I have been researching it for months! It is time to just break down and get one!

Tomorrow is the day I look at the budget once more. I am hoping I can squeeze a few more items into it...but it looks like it is stretched about as thin as it can go! So, if you have any ideas for stretching more out of a budget than it will allow...let me know!

Since we go so often, at least we don't have to worry about souvenirs. I grabbed a few Disney gift cards a few months ago and each kid will get it for any spending money they 'need', but they neither one have any souvenirs they are really wanting this trip.

Have a great weekend!

Nini

Just a short post today, Yesterday I got the privilege of playing with Miss Mia most of the day! She was so cute...she is getting so good at multi tasking! She was watching her ABC video on Miss B's iPad and having her pull up pictures of her new favorite thing Beach Balls...on the iPod!

She has started playing with dolls so much it is funny! Her Momma was never a girly girl...having two older brothers might have had something to do with it...but Miss Mia is definitely a girly girl! Although she has very LITTLE hair, she insists on wearing a bow ...the only time she is content to have a missing bow is either bath time or bedtime. Other wise you had better have a couple in your stash...they tend to fall out (remember the no hair part?) and if you can't find it she will cry...

She also has her own 'style' developing. Momma tried to put a shirt on with a pair of pants the other day and she was reminded very quickly that was the WRONG shirt for those pants!

Momma bought her a new pair of shoes for the fall...cute pair of patent leather Mary Janes...and Miss Mia would NOT take them off! Every time she tried to get them back from her (they are just a tad bit too big for her) Miss Mia would scream ..."Pretty Shoes!" and run off!

ON the Disney planning front..

I managed to get my battery back up ordered and with Prime, it should be here tomorrow! I love having the Prime (even if I didn't actually 'intend' to get it!) I was able to purchase one a big better than origianly because the shipping charge was removed. I am not sure if a link will work here or not, but this is the one I was able to grab,...

http://www.amazon.com/Jackery®-Port...74096&sr=1-17&keywords=iphone+battery+charger

Just in case anyone is looking for one..

Unless there is something I am forgetting (which is entirely possible!) I have nothing left to plan on my own trip this week....which is very scary right now! It normally means I have forgotten something! LOL!

(although, for those who remember my cruise fiasco in January, I have set up repeated emails to come to me for a solid week at various times of the day to remember to bring documents for boarding the ship! And I would not object to having friendly reminders from other people as well! LOL!)

Started the hard process of stripping wall paper.

Now I am one of those crazy people who LOVE wall paper. Especially the old Robert Morse type or the Victorian type. when I worked for a interior designer I had two specialties...matching fabrics and resourcing vintage wall papers.

I never, repeat NEVER put vinyl wall paper in a room unless I plan on it being there for decades. Vinyl will last a million years and still looks fresh.

So, my beautiful classic green stripe wall paper in an attic bonus room came down. The beautiful stripe made the walls look taller...and the green was perfect for the TV room, sewing room, guest bedroom...but did not work for the newest incarnation of the room...my office!

I was going with classic Mickey colors, red, black, white and yellow. Somehow that beautiful rich green did not fit in. So down it came...very slowly, but it came.

Mr d loves to destroy things, so he helped me. Taking vinyl paper down is a two step process...first you strip the vinyl then you strip the paper. So for the past 2 days he and I have been stripping and cleaning the walls. Of course, it took me two full weeks of 8 hour days to put the wall paper UP! I am a perfectionist with those stripes! I knew I was going to be looking at it for a LONG time and if the stripes were off it would drive me bonkers! So each piece had to be checked and rechecked with the level to make sure they were plumb...sigh.

As the paper came down I could feel the walls getting shorter and the ceiling coming down on me.

So I ripped the window coverings OFF! Now that nice floor to ceiling window is letting in a ton of light! I almost hate to put in the window blinds...but our HOA require that all front facing windows must have a white window covering on them... which meant that the previous covering had a white lining and since it was used primarily for husband sleeping during the day it was blackout lining! (no one said the blinds had to actually stay closed...they just had to have them.)

I can't wait for the room to start coming together. This room is much larger than Miss B's room that I was planning on using, but she has decided that cleaning her room was too much work...

On the Disney front...My external battery came in! I am not 100% happy with it. I measured it...it was only about a quarter inch wider and the same length as my phone...but that quarter inch is a LOT! and it is a TON heavier than my phone! I had visions of carrying the battery pack in my bag ad the phone in my pocket...and then running a short cord between the 2 when charging. It is too big for my bag. Well, actually it WILL fit...I just couldn't carry anything ELSE!

But the good news is it is fast! Lightning fast! It charged my phone from 27% to 100% in less than 30 minutes! So I will be inconvenienced for only 30 minutes at a time. According to the written instructions it will charge my iPhone 7 times... That should more than take care of all the things we need for it to do on a daily basis in the parks!

So, today I will be taking Mr D for a well check...and then convincing him he needs to go back to school...sigh...and working some more on my office. I can only spare a couple of hours up there today. I have one portion of a wall that still needs the paper removed, and one spot behind the bed that has a tiny bit of vinyl to still be removed. Then I have to wash the walls down good and let them dry out before putting my yummy paint color on them! (although I am not sure how the color Burlap is considered yummy!)

And the next BIG hurdle will be finding someone who is willing to help me take a heavy old rolltop desk up a flight of narrow stairs!

Nini

I have entirely too much stuff to do for this nonsense!

My iPod stopped working...like it is stuck on pause! So my first thought was to panic...then I decided that would get me no where, so I decided to try a reset. In order to do that, I log into Itunes...guess what...it isn't working any more! As in when I tried to make sure it has the latest update so I could restart the iPod...it locked up...and is now frozen and will not pull up! I have restarted the computer three times! Still no luck! And of course, the external hard drive has not been working, so I have basically lost 7 years worth of music...unless I can find a way to restore everything.

Is that enough of a panic? LOL!

Of course, I also just found out that when Apple made all their announcements, they also decided that my iPod Classic is no longer being made...so the next step is no more support...so even if I can get it back up and running it is only a matter of time before it will be lost and forgotten!

It is definitely time to get a new one...but I don't want a touch, or a nano...I really liked the size and use of my Classic. I guess I could just get a new phone with more memory...which would actually be cheaper in the long run, but I really am not a happy camper right now.

I mean a whole 4 day cruise without access to my Disney music?

Nini

Today is a happy day!!!!

After nearly 10 hours of working on my ipod I was able to get it working again! I am right now listening to my Disney parks music. Happy camper!

And, yes, I know I will have to eventually get a new one, but for now I am content with what I have. Although I believe Mr D will be happy when his birthday comes around, because the new Nano will become his birthday present! LOL!

Nini

It is now official!

My new office is ready to be painted! I just have to decide if I want to do it now or wait a week... of course, I am impatient...so I am ready to start on it NOW!

I have been able to narrow down a couple of details on the office...like the fact that my husband refuses...and I mean REFUSES! to move my nice oak roll top desk up the narrow stairs. I was casually looking online and found one I kind of liked at IKEA...black top with nice red spindle legs. While it was very feminine looking it just didn't seem to speak to me. Then....I found this one at Wal Mart of all places!
http://www.walmart.com/ip/World-Map-Computer-Desk-Silver/23847859

Of course it also comes in black, which is what I am going to be getting. Now I have the window treatments figured out, the wall color, the desk, and today I saw some ways to spruce up the old metal file cabinet I have upstairs... If it turns out half as nice as it is in my head I will be happy.

Now on to the Disney front..

We are less than 4 weeks from the trip. Four weeks from this very moment, we will be setting sail! The whole packing issue is still driving me crazy, but I am pretty sure it will be fine once I put everything where it should be.... and of course, I am STILL convinced I am forgetting something major.

Today I ordered Mr D's and mine meds for the trip. I will go ahead and remove enough for the trip, and place the rest in the previous bottle and place the current one (with just enough for the trip) in the carry on bag...that way I will be sure NOT to forget that!

But other than a few last minute items, I think I am ready to finish up the packing (ugh) and I know I am definitely ready to go!

Nini

Three weeks from this second, we will be getting in the car to leave on our trip!

Twenty minutes ago, I was able to get a Be Our Guest Fast Pass for lunch on our main Magic Kingdom day.

Yesterday our Magic Bands came in.

This afternoon/evening we will behaving Mr D's birthday dinner at LongHorn.

My office is ready to have the desk and file cabinet moved upstairs to it (after the bed and dresser are moved out.)

All in all everything is working out...

All except the concert my 14 year old sprang on me! Her friends are all going to a One Direction/5 Seconds of Summer concert. She wants to go and we said no...seems one of the parents bought her a ticket anyway and said it would be in exchange for tutoring....so now it looks like she will be going.

I went to my first concert at 13....but times were different then. (and prices of the tickets were WAY cheaper!) My Mom went with me... not sure I am ready for this stage in her life!

Anyway...THREE WEEKS UNTIL DISNEY!

I feel like I have been neglecting this poor Pre trippie! I have been way too busy trying to get my office in order...and the final piece of the puzzle will be delivered today!

After moving some of the heavy pieces up and down the narrow stairs, husband decided that it would be better to just get a new desk...but he did not like the desk I picked out, so we had a bit of back and forth on that...I need a desk with a large writing surface and a place for my coffee cup and laptop. He thought I needed a large desk like I have down stairs...the roll top.

I finally won out (it IS MY desk after all!) And it should be delivered today. I moved all the pieces of my office up here, and I am using it...but I would be so embarrassed to have anyone see it right now! I have piles of stuff all over the floor...waiting for me to find a home for it! The two pieces of furniture that will not be making the trip upstairs (besides the roll top desk) are a tall 4 drawer cabinet, and a tall clothes cabinet (an antique that I painted and stenciled Pooh and Tigger on ... I painted an antique! after it took me almost 2 months to strip all the old paint off. ) I loved the marketry and different woods on it, but the old oak was not the look I needed in the kids room...so I ended up painting it. One of these days I will refinish it again...any way, it was SUPPOSED to hold supplies and brochures etc...but it is too tall to fit in my new office... as is the 4 drawer file cabinet... SO all the things that I was planning on living there are now in the floor in piles!

I did manage to redo all my files...nice and color coded... a breeze to find things now... My plan is to have the office presentable by the time this weekend passes...because after this weekend I will be on crunch time!

On this trip I have only made ONE shirt....and that was almost a year ago! But I did purchase a shirt for our Pirate night on board the ship...I got beautiful shand appliqued shirts from Jessica! They finally came in Monday (funny...Jessica lives all of 10 miles from me...Originally I had planned on driving over and picking them up, where we could have a visit...but it seems that my plan did not work out too well! We are both too busy to get a way to carve out the time. Bummer! And she will be in Disney the week before me. Our kids do not have the same break this year! Boo!

I am in the process of reprinting all our plans and making last minute adjustments...nothing major. Once I get them finalized I will post them here...

It is sad to see my Pre trippie coming to an end...of course, our next trip is already booked, ADRs are made and the planning on it has already started...and I am hoping for a good bounce back this trip...if so we will be going back after Thanksgiving next year!
