Since we are in a speculation mode, let me add my two cents. I think the Magic and Wonder will stay in service with DCL for many more years. When a cruise line takes a ship out of service, they sell it to another cruise line and they make minor modifications and continue to sail it another 20 or so years. I don’t think DCL wants it’s unique ships sailing for other cruise lines. Everyone knows what ships Margaritaville is sailing - old repurposed major cruiseline ships. DCL brand is too important for them. They don’t want someone to look at a Margaritaville ship and say - Look that is an old Disney ship.
My first cruise was on RCCL Song of America in 1984. It was just taken out of service in 2023 and will be scrapped this year. It was sailing for over 40 years. RCCL sold it in 1999 and it sailed under at least 4 other cruise brands before being scrapped. I saw it once in a Caribbean port several years ago and instantly recognized it as the Song of America even though it was rebranded.
The OGs are being meticulously taken care of and I expect them to stay in service for another 10-15 years and then be scrapped by DCL.
