we not staying onsite but the day we get there we are going to DTD but also wanted to run over to the comptempory and look around. Can we hope on on the resort bus and leave our car at DTD.

This you can do. It is frowned upon to park for theme parks at DTD and yes, I have seen vehicles towed but you can shop at DTD and then resort hop.

You can but it would be much faster to drive there using your car.

Buses from DTD to resort can take awhile to get there. Especially the deluxe resorts since those buses usually go to more than one resort.

Not sure what your goal at the Contemporary is, but you might want to consider driving to Contemporary and getting a 3 hour parking pass there. You'll get there faster and have the luxury of having your car close to you, with an approved parking pass for the place where you actually are.
