we spent 8 days at Disney last week- and we found the bus system to be quick and efficient in most cases!:cool1: I was a bit worried, due to so many bad reports here.....but the only 2 issues we had with waiting was the 2 times at DTD. bleh. and even that wasn't TOO bad.....not more than an extra 20 minutes or so of standing/waiting:thumbsup2
Magic express was AWESOME- buses to parks and other resorts were so quick....of course, there' rarely a straight line thru Disney, but scoping out a map,and locating the nearest drop/pickup points worked well-
it was busier than when we've been before, but we found that doing the opposite of everyone else solved any crowding issues.... if the crowd goes right,we went left- if a ton of people were heading to a boat, we took a bus- if everyone was leaving nite EMH between 10-11 p.m.- we planned on staying till midnight(fun!)
we also planned on an hour for transport to go to dinner ate another resort, always had plenty of time......
I would do Disney transport again in an instant!:thumbsup2
(and it was free)

We were there last week and had the opposite experience. I was floored at how bad the busses were. I was happy with magical express service though. For us the issues were all to do with POR and parks. Maybe its a problem isolated to POR.

We used the bus sytem Friday, including stops at DTD, and it was very smooth. No wait time was over 10 minutes and the buses were not overcrowded.

We had a great experience with the buses at BWV too! The only issue we had when it came to buses, is that some were trying to cut in front of you to get on:confused3. Not like they didn't see you standing there either. Besides that, the buses came like clock work and back to back and we also had a Transportation guide out at the stops radioing for the buses, so maybe that had something to do with it:confused3. Great Job Buses!:rolleyes1

Mom, is that you?

:lmao:

My Dec 6-13 bus experiences were actually pretty good. I did get on one bus that the driver admitted to having taken a wrong turn, so had to take the long way back to BWV. He forgot which route he was driving evidently. But, I have heard from a lot of others that there were many issues with drivers 'taking wrong turns'..have to wonder why.

I had some wonderful chats with bus drivers. I had one driver from TTC to AK, late in the day on Sunday, who was making the bus switch with another driver. When the new driver went to get on the bus, the original driver stopped her and told her that he really wanted to do an extra good sweep of the bus. He saw a young couple changing a baby on the bus and then toss the 'used' diaper on the floor, under a seat. When he asked them, they evidently told him that wasn't them but another couple. He just wanted to make sure there were no 'items' left behind. He was really funny about it.

The crowds were heavy so I'm sure that impacts the buses a lot. I took just one trip to DTD...I try to avoid it if I can. But overall, the buses were running quite nicely.

I never do that. Take a wrong turn and admit it that is. I tell the riders that there was a detour. They buy it, sometimes. Just kidding, I tell them I'm old and tend to get lost. That they buy.

i thought i was lucky and got to see magicbus
I'm not sure I would call it lucky.

Ya, you'd get some kind of treatment. Not sure it would be VIP.
Also, the term magic bus is not something I came up with, I stole it. It's how a bus operating out of the MK is sometimes refered to by other transportation CMs. If you asked any driver driving out of the MK hub if they were a magic bus, they would say yes.

Okay I thought if I said go a bus driver magicbus they think I am offering them drugs to become a magic bus. That cool see you guys think of fun things to call your routes and buses unlike the monorails. Where they have a hard time keeping track of 11 monorails and need to paint them a different color.
