Disney Buses and Early ADR's

Hi, I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I just got off the phone with a Disney Dining CM and she confused me (doesn't take much really). I have a reservation at Crystal Palace at 8:10 am and she told me that the buses don't start running until an hour before the park opens. I was under the impression that they started earlier than that. MK is scheduled to open at 9 am (no EMH that morning), so do I just take a cab to MK to get to my ADR on time? Or did I totally not misunderstand the CM?

We have ressies at 8:20 a.m. @ AK and the park doesn't open until 9 a.m.
What time will busses be running?

I find that MK buses usually start running about 1.5-2 hours before opening (if no EMH and a 9am opening). We often have 8:05 reservations and never have a problem catching a bus around 7:30- the only issue we have had with both early ADRs at MK and AK is the buses are very infrequent- so if you just miss one you could wait another 20-30 minutes for another.

There are special busses to take guests to the breakfasts. They begin running between 6:45 and 7:15. We always do Donald's breakfast at 8 and get there in plenty of time.

What if you are staying at one resort, and have a 7:30 AM at another resort? Are the special buses available for that as well?

Where are you going? From which hotel are you starting? Be more specific. If it's an MK resort, the bus driver may drop you off at the hotel.

Hmmm, never really thought this through when we booked! We have ressies for Cape May @ 8am from ASM. How do we go about getting there; park bus; other bus?

What about Pop Century to Boma for an 8:05 ADR? I was thinking my only option was a taxi. It would be awesome if there was a way to catch Disney Transportation.

We have an 'Ohana at 730AM and coming from ASMu...I am going to ask our resort when I get there and we'll go stand out there at 645 and hope lol

CM told me to tell concierge when we check in saying they would set it up for me

We are heading to the Crystal Palace (MK) from the Pop also for an 8:10 am ADR. But if they have special buses for early character breakfasts, I would say we are all fine. The CM totally through me for a loop because she asked if I had any transportation while staying there (which I don't) because of the bus situation but maybe she forgot about the early buses? As for going resort to resort, maybe cab would be the easiest thing to take rather than worrying about being late?

The advice on the DIS boards is: only trust those wearing purple pants, i.e. Disney bus drivers.

For anyone going to the MK resort area for an early character breakfast, your hotels will have buses available before 7 am.

I second this! Prior to the day of your breakfast, question a bus driver from your resort. Or, if you are staying at a resort with a water launch, question the boat captains. Do not rely upon the people working the desk of your hotel as they can really lead you astray ...

I have a 7:30 am ressie at Ohana (Lilo and Stitch) and we are staying at the POP. I am going to just take a cab to be on the safe side.

We stayed at the WL and had a 8:30 ressie for Donalds in AK. We were at the bus stop at 7am. The bus didnt show up until 7:45 and then stopped at FT Wilderness before going to AK. I asked the bus driver if we were going to make it to AK in time and he said to us, You should have been at the bus stop earlier. DH said to him, I didnt know we had to sleep at the bus stop just to make it to breakfast.

We were late but the CM's at Donalds took us right away, they said it happens all the time.

This past June we had an 8:05am ADR at CRT, I ask the CM at check in at POR, and she said the buses for MK started at 6:45am, we got to the bus stop a little after 7 and buses were already running for all the parks, we got on the MK bus by 7:30 and were at the park in plenty of time for our ADR.

Last year in September we were staying at the ASM and we had the first reservation for the Playhouse Disney Breakfast at DHS. We inquired at the fron desk and were told there would be a bus to take us there. We went out the next morning and there it was. We were the first people to arrive at DHS and first in the park and first to the restaurant. It worked out great. Any our DS loved Jo Jo .
