Disney Bus w/o carseat

We are on our first land/sea vacation in a couple of weeks. We were planning on taking our 3 year old DD carseat with us. She is 45 pounds and tall for her age. The FAA website indicates a seatbelt on the aircraft is safer than the car seat because of her weight and height. Obviously this is not the case in cars. I learned today that the DCL buses do not have seat belts, so we would not be able to use the car seat. I am not as concerned about the AKL to the parks as I am about the airport to AKL and AKL to the port. What have others done in this situation? Am I being paronoid?

I have never understood why buses, (school or others) don't require seatbelts.

We took a car seat with us and used it on the plane ( DD is an escape artist ) and in the Mears transportation. If you are using a town car you can request one from them. We just kept the car seat in our room while we were there and did not use it again until our return back to the airport.

Supposedly, school buses do not have seatbelts because if there was ever a fire on the bus, and the little ones couldn't get their own buckles undone, there's no way the bus driver would be able to get all of the kids off the bus safely. The backs of the seats are supposed to be padded enough to prevent major injury. I'm not saying that I agree with this - I just know this is the info given to the concerned parents/PTA when my kids were in elementary school.

Buses are designed so that people don't fly around as much in a crash as they would in a normal car. Also, while the car that hits a bus may end up totaled, the bus is usually just a little dented. They're so big that they can absorb a lot of shock. You also have to factor in that people are much less likely to hit a bus, due to their size, and that the drivers are very alert. While it's always possible for people to be injured in any wreck, being in a bus gives you very favorable odds.
