disney bus from TTC to AK or DS?

Since we'll be at wdw over Christmas, when things are most crowded and parking lots fill, I'm trying to figure out some parking strategies. (Staying off site)

Do busses only go between parks, or can you take a bus from the TTC to and from AK or DS? If so, what time do they start running?

Also, if we want to hop from AK to DS, which closes later, should we park at DS and take a bus from there straight to AK to start the day? When would that start running--would we be able to do that and still get there for park opening?

DS (assuming you do mean DisneyStudios) will almost always close later than AK during the winter months. AK most often closes around 5ish, unless it's an EMH evening. So, you would be best served to park at DS. Worst case scenario is that you would have to take a bus to Boardwalk and then walk to DS via the pathway, about a 15 minute walk. It drops you right at the parking lot for DS.
Or just plan on driving to DS when you are done at AK...yes, it will be crowded but it may just be easier than worrying about what bus to get to where!

Thanks. It wasn't crowds I was worried about so much as the parking lot being CLOSED to new cars later in the day.

If I park at the studios in the morning, can I get a bus and be at AK in time for opening?

Also,

Can I park at the TTC and get a bus from there to AK or the studios?

I'm not familiar with what's at the TTC, besides the monorail. What destinations can be reached by bus from the TTC? Is there a link anyone has to somewhere that discusses the busses/TTC? I couldn't find the detail I was looking for on wdwinfo, allearsnet, mouseplanet, etc.

Yes, you can park at TTC and bus to MGM or AK. In fact, that is the only bus from MK to MGM OR AK, there are no busses from MK bus stops to AK or MGM, you must take the monorail or ferry to TTC first.

All of the offsite busses and shuttles drop/pick up at TTC, along with the city bus and the AK and MGM busses. All resort busses go directly to MK. Hope this helps.

Thanks Duds. That gives me a much clearer picture of the TTC!

Since we're getting there while it's still low crowds, I thing I'll just stop worrying about it for now and talk to the CM's when we get there for advice on what to do when it gets busy. I'm just one of those obsessive Disney planners who wants to make things go as smoothly as possible for my family!

If you ask a CM for any kind of transportation advice, be sure it's a CM wearing the purple pants of transportation!!! The bus drivers are really the ones who will steer you right. I've gotten some really spooky bus info from resort CM's as well as park CM's. So, if you want the real scoop, ask a bus driver!!
