Disney Burger Research

Actually, I was thinking I generally don't have burgers while at Disney, but the Sci-Fi posts remind me I was wrong. Another vote for Sci-Fi!

My 4 Favorite Burgers:

1) Burger at Chefs de France - Only on the lunch menu. The fries that come with it are spectacular.

2) Burger topped with lobster at Grand Floridian Cafe. You also get homemade chips which are delish!

3) Burger at Picabu - Dolphin/Swan

4) Burger at Beaches & Cream

I tend to steer away from burgers at WDW, as there are lots of other good, unique options (see what I did there? steer...cow...beef...burger? oh yes, I did....). However, I recently discovered two pretty great ones: (1) Yak & Yeti, which has already been mentioned. I had read a lot about it over the last year or two, so we tried it last week, and it was pretty awesome indeed...best full-sized burger I've had on property. "Full-sized," you ask? (2) Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge has a very short menu, but one of the items on it is a Duo of Sliders, one of which is duck confit, and the other of which is a little Wagyu Beef delight that beat out even the Y&Y "Kobe" burger. It might have been the best thing I've ever eaten on property, period (the duck half of the plate was also great, for whatever that's worth to you). With that said, my understanding is that there is a full-sized version of the same thing on the regular HBD lunch menu.

I have also had the Grand Floridian Burger, simply because eating a burger with lobster on it was unique at a minimum and potentially awesome at its best. It was quite good, but I've been there twice since then and haven't ordered it again. My understanding is that they cut back on the lobster, while also raising the price. Again, still good, but potentially less so than a few years ago (strictly hearsay).

Our choice is the Dolphin Fountain. We used to be died in the wool fans of the burger at B&C but over time its gone downhill. Lots of friends had recommended the Fountain before so we gave it a shot. Best burger!!! Also, its easy to get into the Fountain. Plus, they have some other really good stuff like a philly cheese steak.

We used to make a trip to Beaches and Cream every trip for the burger, but last Feb we tried the Kobe burger at Big River Grille and liked it better. We're trying to work it into the schedule for our Dec trip. Would love to try Yak & Yeti but don't have plans to go to AK this time.

Scott you'll see some good remarks about the burger with lobster on it served at the Grand Floridian Café. I like burgers and lobster, but I wasn't too crazy about the combination. Thought it deserved a mention though.

I had a very good burger at Beaches & Cream but it was years ago. Like many dishes at WDW, the quality may have declined. :earsboy:

Burgers and Lobster? Hmmm....

Beaches and Cream seems to be winning!

I like your honesty and writing style....Obviously Kobe and Wagyu is very trendy right now in culinary circles. I tend to be an adventurous eater but burgers are my goto comfort food when traveling.

My favorite burger has been the battered burger at Cookes of Dublin at Downtown Disney. It is a different twist on your basic burger.

The Fountain, at the Dolphin. Best burger on property, IMHO. (I believe they serve the same burger at the Cabana Pool Bar at the Dolphin as well).

I wonder if its the same one at Picabu which I'm a big fan of.

Another vote for Big River Grille. DH and I love each having our own salad and then we share a burger. Yes, they are big enough to share. The kitchen even plates it already cut in half for us and are generous with the delicious potato chips on both plates.

Sci-fi the picnic burger ... It's a burger with a hotdog cut in half on top of the burger.. Add the shake Ummmmmmm

My absolute favorite was the burger at Le Cellier which I liked even more than the filet! Sadly, it disappeared from the menu when they went signature. Right now, I would have to say my favorite is the one at Yak & Yeti ...

Kobe Beef Burger
10 oz. grilled American Kobe beef burger, sesame-soy mayonnaise, crispy shoestring fries. Topped with choice of shiitake mushrooms and scallion compote or Asian slaw
$18.49

We like it with the shiitake mushroom and scallion compote

I had it with the Asian Slaw and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Here in a few weeks when we leave we are going to the Grand Floridian Cafe to try the lobster burger. Will let you know what we think.

The only burger I had this year - out of a combination of quick service and table service - was the Aberdeen Angus burger at The Plaza. And I was sooooo disappointed because it was virtually tasteless!!!

DD had the burger at Raglan Road and said she liked it a lot. She had the onion rings from my steak (which had to go back as they'd cremated it) and their fries are divine. However, I was very unhappy with Raglan Road and wouldn't go back.

We've had fantastic burgers at Electric Umbrella and Cosmic Rays, both quick service.
