So... up until last summer all we knew about Disney was Disneyland and with our girls being ages 3 and 6 we took our first Disney Cruise in July, a 7 day Carribean from Port Canaveral. Since we were coming from California, we included a two day trip to Magic Kingdom and Epcot... obviously, not having time to complete the other two parks... immediately fell in love with our two days and counting the days till we go back!

Well... now we are hooked on Disney Cruises.... and have booked another Disney Cruise during Christmas.

Here is my dilemma... I love Disney cruises but I also love the parks and visiting Europe... how on earth do I account for all them...

Last night I fell in love with Tokyo Disney.. that's now on the bucket list... as well as Disney Paris as I've been in Paris but had no aspiration to visit in the past... and now that I'm older I do...

I guess I'm just venting because I don't know how to juggle all these trips knowing we can only take one trip somewhere per year...

...and now with the two new ships coming... oh goodness.. well, that's another story!

So far we have planned on our bucket list.

December 2016: Disney Cruise out of Galveston
July 2017: 7 days at Disney World with no cruise... as of yet... lol....
July 2018: Alaska Disney Cruise....
Summer 2019: Ireland and Disney Paris?
Summer 2020: Aulani, Hawaii
Summer 2021: Maiden Voyage on new ship?

Please tell me there are more people like me that think about these trips years far away... I can't be the only one, right?

Indulge me! :-)

Ha you are not the only one. I alwaays tell myDH that planning and anticipating is half the fun and keeps me sane. Now, I usually only plan 2-3 years out. As of now we are book on two cruises both in 2017. We just got from out 2016 cruise we might go again if I can find a good last minute deal this summer. I would also love to do: Hawaii and Alaska but I have not planned out that far yet. My twins are 6 and I am waiting for them to get a bit older. Have fun planning and dreaming!

We always plan our vacations far out. Now that I have a college student we aren't able to plan as far in advance as we would like for various reasons.

Sounds like you need to look into DVC. We bought at Aulani because we are on the west coast and we LOVE it. We've stayed at Aulani twice, Grand Californian once and Bay Lake Tower once. I wish we had bought when our girls were younger but there weren't properties on the west coast back then.

Oh you are not the only one lol
Our next Disney-fied adventure is the Wonder out of Galveston in January 2017.
After that I am already planning for: Disneyland Jan/Feb 2018, Alaska on the Wonder 2018, Aulani 2019 and a cruise on the first new ship in 2021 lol

You're not the only one. We are currently booked for Alaska for this August, planning WDW for next October (I already bought our park tickets!!) and then we'd like to do Norwegian Fjords Disney Cruise in summer 2018.

I don't have any plans past that, but I'd like to do Disneyland again at some point and I want to do another Caribbean at some point.

Glad I'm not the only one! We are all in this together! Haha! We did look into DVC while on the cruise but are still on the fence of doing it... I totally agree that future trips are what keeps me going as well. The thought of future trips and planning definitely make the time go fast!

I'm also hoping that we get more cruises on the west coast in 2017 and 2018. Hawaii would be fun and I would have no problem taking the kids out of school for it! Ha!

I too am planning on a maiden voyage in the future. I wish I had more flexibility to cruise in the off-season... I'm planned out for several years too though.

We are addicted to Disney cruises and Adventures by Disney too. I can't tell you how thrilled we were when the next Maiden Voyage was announced for 2021 and 2023 because we were only panned out tentatively until 2020 LOL We did the Fantasy maiden voyage and it was amazing. We try to do one to two big trips a year and a few smaller ones scattered throughout. We live in Florida and are able to get in lots of weekend visits through DVC. We've been able to visit amazing countries and beautiful places with Disney. So far, we've been to Scotland, London, Paris, Disneyland Paris, New York, San Francisco and Copenhagen with Adventures by Disney. The Caribbean, Alaska, Norway, Iceland and another part of Scotland we have visited with Disney cruise line.

This summer we will be doing the Adventures by Disney's DVC exclusive riverboat cruise that goes to Budapest, Austria, Slovakia, Germany and the post cruise ABD in Prague. We were hoping to do a back to back ABD with Ireland on the front end but the dates didn't work out so we are doing Ireland on our own and copying the ABD itinerary. We've also got a coupe of 3 day cruises on the Dream to get our DCL fix in and then Adventure by Disney's Winter in Wyoming for New Year's.

2017 we are planning to visit Aulani and do either Backstage Magic on the way back with Adventures by Disney unless the dates don't work out. If that is the case then it will be an Italy ABD. We'll know once they release next year's itineraries.

2018 we are planning China with ABD and are hoping to do Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disney while we are there.

2019 I am hoping to knock Africa of my bucket list for my 50th birthday with Adventures by Disney.

2020 is the only non Disney related trip we are thinking of doing which would be either Bora Bora or the Maldives, one of DH's bucket list items.

If ABD announces they will do a Japan trip then we will do that in a heartbeat and hit Tokyo Disney at that time. So, yeah, we know exactly how you feel :D

Our boys are 18 & 20 now. In the fall they'll both be in college. We've traveled so much as they were growing up. I'm so glad of it. We'll likely be traveling less as we get the boys through college. My husband and I have been comprising a list of trips we intend to take once our boys are set off in their own directions. In a way, we have been planning down the road. Not many of those dream trips include Disney, however. ;)

My boys are 11 and 13. We have been trying to travel as much as possible before they hit high school. I don't think I can homeschool them through high school, and I think I'll be too poor when they're in college. We're finally going on our first non-Disney cruise. The more we can distance ourselves from Disney the more we will be able to travel during the high school and college years. Unless a miracle happens and DCL lowers their prices. I'm not holding my breath.

My kids want to go to Universal's Nintendoland in Japan when it opens in 2020. I've got a pretty long bucket list. The first on my bucket list is Iceland. I'm waiting to see DCL's prices next year. I have a feeling it's going to end up being a land trip. I need to win the lotto, and then I could it all.

The Disney struggle is not real for us. It was likely a one time deal...and we went through the Panama Canal. We have a 5 year old and will be moving to Spain in 2 years, so this summer, we are doing an RV Road Trip (in our RV) to Grand Canyon, all of Southern Colorado, Rocky Mountain NP, the Black Hills, Calgary for the Stampede, Banff and Jasper, Glacier NP, Hood River Oregon and then the Redwoods and California Coast. We get home from the 31 day trip and are flying to South Carolina to tour the low lands (Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Savannah) and also Clemson game and the Biltmore with friends and their 3 kids for 2 more weeks.

Next year, we plan on doing a Northbound Alaska Cruise and then spending 2 weeks on the interior. And then we are moving to Spain.

I have DVC and going home to WDW every year or so is something I don't forsee ever growing old. That said, I've had the fortune to travel to many places in the world and have quite a few more on my wish list.

Many of my travel experiences have not been linked to Disney, but funnily enough it's because of Disney that I've been able to check off a few of my major non-Disney bucket list destinations ... most notably Vancouver & Alaska (DCL 2011), California (Disneyland 2015), and Iceland/Norway (DCL 2015).

Hawaii is still high on my list (and will hopefully include Aulani) and Australia is on there as well (ABD maybe?).

I teach at a high school. A recent guest speaker challenged us all to consider where we spent the majority of our money because, in his words, "your heart is where your money goes". My answer was instantaneous: "Disney, so I can travel with the family". (The 8 of us being my parents, my sister, brother-in-law and three nephews.)

We don't really plan trips far out and typically only do one big trip a year. I keep an eye out for discounts. With DCL especially, prices always seem to go up from the inaugural season, so when appealing new options are offered, we tend to jump on them. (Which is why I've spent 18 nights over two DCL cruises and not yet ventured anywhere near Castawat Cay!)

I love disney and all....but no way I could only do disney every year and we are DVC (but can go anywhere with DVC)

I agree with you because I love me traveling around the world and studying and learning about other cultures. That's what I study and teach! However, as we have two little girls at the moment, I feel like we have to take advantage of the Disney moments even if they love it when they are older because the bippity boppity boutique won't be the same feeling when they are in high school!

I'm wondering how outrageous those prices are! We are very limited since my husband and I teach so traveling is left to summers which means, hot, expensive and over crowding!

That is wonderful that both of you have traveled with your children since they are young. We have a family friend that told us last summer that the best decision he and his wife made was to take one big family trip together each year as their kids were growing up, because the moment they both left for college everyone's schedules and priorities change. He said that those were the best 18 summers he had with his children. :-)

Nintendoland... oh goodness. I had not heard of that... that's amazing! Iceland would be so mesmerizing!

I'll move to Spain with you! That's wonderful! Spain has been on my bucket list for decades! What part of Spain will you be moving to? What a wonderful trip you have planned, enjoy!

What a great thought to ponder about!
