Ok this is a pretty random question, but does anyone know why a lot of blog sites, Disney Food Blog and Disney Tourist Blog are 2 examples, don't put dates on individual posts so you can tell when the heck it was written? If I'm looking for information, I need to know if it was written last week or 3 years ago. As we all know, things are constantly changing and information becomes dated or obsolete pretty quickly. Usually I can get an idea through context or looking at the comments, which are date stamped, but that's time consuming and I shouldn't have to.

Both of those sites are well done and provide good info, but not time stamping the posts drives me nuts, probably more than it should lol.

I assume it has something to do with search engine results, part of the Google algorithm takes age of the content into account. But Google knows how old it is even if you don't stamp it with a date in the content, so it seems strange to me. If they just leave it off to obfuscate the age of the content so people are more likely to click through, that's a pretty user-hostile practice IMO.

Disney Food Blog/All Ears don't seem to date a lot of their articles because I notice they tend to use them over and over again. As long as it is not an article about something date specific. It's very annoying, I don't even follow both of them anymore on the social media sites because the two post basically identical articles/photos (I know they are owned by the same person). However, I find that Tom Bricker (The Disney Tourist Blog) is really good about dating his blogs, and when he updates one, he adds that date. I really enjoy his writing, he is probably one of the most useful and researched blogger out there.

I agree Tom does a great job, even if he does get a bit long winded at times. But I don't see where he dates his content. If I'm missing something please correct me. He does often date the updates, I have seen that for sure.

You know, I get his blogs emailed to me and there is a date there, but when I open the articles, I don't see it. I just looked at the one I got today and you are right. This is using my phone and/or iPad. One of the other ways I check is by looking at the comments, starting with the newest. Never noticed until now!

yeah it's unfortunate. It's not bad to keep up with the latest stuff because I get it in my email like you. But often his posts come up when you google something (because he has a lot of good content), but then it's hard to know how old it is without looking at the comments. Oh well, first world problems amirite?
