Okay, so I'm totally OCD and anal and I've started a Disney Binder. I actually have 2 as the 1st one wasn't good enough. I thought I was nuts (my husband has been making fun of me for weeks) until I started reading more threads here on DIS and hearing others talk about their Disney Binders. Oh I feel so at home here! lol

So - my question is - what do you put in your Disney binder?

In mine so far I have my schedules, my ADR confirmations, driving directions (we're driving and staying off property), my packing lists, and that is about it. But I have like 8 tabs and I would love to fill them all.

I'm a freak, I know! :rotfl2:

So anyway, anyone else care to share about their Disney Binder?

on our last trip, i was the one responsible for all the plans.

there were 6 of us, 4 of us adults. 2 of the adults were just saying 'whatever whatever whatever' one had never been and figured what we did was just fine. the other, only voiced that he wanted time on his own to do a few specific things. Then Mum and I both had specific things we wanted to see and do , so she told me what she wanted, and I did what i could to make it happen

therefore, I had to make sure everyone had everything organized and knew what was going on.

hence...the disney binder. Each adult got one.

as we had different plans a few of the days, each had a binder to their needs.

I included :
flight info: flight times, flight numbers, baggage rules,

DME info: where to go when in the airport , time of departure back to airport

Hotel info: Hotel name, phone number,

ADR info: a schedule showing their specific adr's. and confirmation numbers

Dining Plan info: with the adrs, there were * to show which dinners they should use their DP credits for, and which to pay out of pocket (ie breakfast at bomas was an OOP meal)

Get around info: for the one who wanted to go off on his own for a few things, i included how to get to where he was going

Park info: which park on which day that I was going to
also showing which rides were appropriate for my exsil (she has epilepsy)

sounds like it was a big binder with info, but it wasn't. there was a page on each thing really.

then i added in fun things, just to keep the hype up. (everyone got their binders the week before we left) There were some disney related crosswords and word searches (fun to have a 'race to finish' while we waited for the almost 2 hour delayed plane ) and info on what hidden mickes are (everyone loved this, and spent the trip pointing out different ones that they found).

i had watched the sales at the disney store, and in the fall i scored on tshirts (all the same shirt but different character on the front) for under $5 each.

i there was also a $1 store poncho for each person, and a pack of gum.

Everyone loved their binders, and they really enjoyed reading thru them.

Ohh I always have all the little "best kept secret" type things in there. All the little places I want to remember to check out and also all the tips i read on here. Hidden Mickeys to check out if i read about them..... little info on rides etc.... all that kind of stuff.

Times when shows are which you can get on Stevesoares site.

Print out the menus of the places we are going to eat... and a few extras just in case we decide not to go there etc....

I also have phone numbers and addresses as well as phone numbers and addresses of people at home in case needed.

I'm sure there is more I can't think of right now.

You're not crazy! Why do you think the Passporter has gotten so popular!

I've moved away from the binder, but I do take with me:
--Hotel confirmations
--My Itinerary Spreadsheet (yes...we're all a bit looney)
--Rental car confirmation documents
--ADRs
--Flight information and confirmations
--Tickets for any shows or hard ticket events (or confirmation numbers if I'm picking up tickets at will-call)
--Phone number of hotel
--Park hours, EMH hours, Parade/Fireworks/Showtimes hours

That's about it. These days I carry it all in a ziploc bag in my carryon (then use the ziploc bag throughout the trip when I go on water rides!)

i dont use a binder but i do have everything binded together at my local staples store Here is what i have in my planning bible as my husbnad calls it..lol

1. Vacation information
2. driving to WDW (we drive from MI to WDW)
3. Emerency information (names, numbers, resort and disney numbers)
this is on red paper so if there is a emergency the kids no exactly where to go into the binder
4. overnight hotel information
5. My WDW reservation information so i have it in black and white)
6. Maps
7. Park schedules
8. Resort information
9. Tips and tricks
10. dinning information
11.character information
12. Other information
13 and a place for notes

Oh I can so do this :cool1: :cool1: I was just going to use a yellow enevlope, but the Idea of makeing a binder I know my DS will think I have lost my marbles!!:rotfl2: you can add your personal touches as well with photos and decals as well.

I have tabs for park hours/least crowded parks, each park has a tab with tips/tricks info as well as touring plans, packing list, driving directions and hotel info for stopovers, dining at disney w/ ADRs. I keep maps and the trip tik from AAA in the pockets. My family made fun of me, too. By the end of the trip they were calling my binder the great big book of everything.

What a great idea. I use envelopes for each day and write the information. Next year the whole family is going-my parents and brother's family. The binder will definately be an idea for me to use since I will be the one in charge of planning.

I won't even get into how large my binder was for the Panama Canal cruise I took last year. Ha!

I also like to add information on places we think we may go to such as the mini-golf courses, Chip & Dale's Campfire, etc...

Gives you a back up plan just in case you need it.

I have a huge binder that I use. DH thinks I'm crazy too, but hey, it keeps stuff organized. I keep my plans, ADR's, itinerary, menus, tips, directions, park hours, parade times, firework schedules, etc. Don't worry. Your not the only one.

We used and loved our binder... I also had clear insert pockets where we kept things like receipts, a birthday card from Mickey for our son, tickets etc for scrapbooking.

We also kept the pressed penny information in there for what you could get where etc. We got the large MnM mini's containers and kept a roll of quarters and shinny pennies in them for just that reason.

Our ADR's times and places and confirmation #'s were in there but also on index cards that we just took each day, one for each group, so we would not be late. hahahahaha

I still have my last one, started a new one that I call DVC, with all the best kept secrets, restaurant info, snack credit list, pressed penny list, in the back and each trip has a section with its specifics in it.

My family doesn't laugh at me too much about it. At least when it is time to do or read something I know exactly where it is. hahaha

You wanna know what is REALLY bad? That reading all these replies has made me panic that my binder isn't big enough and I need more!

Man, I am such a freak!

This is our first trip. So I'm learning as I go. And now we are down to 14 days. And I feel I need to work on my binder somemore! lol

You don't by chance have pics of these, do you? They sound SUPER cute!

Put me in the Passporter group. I love that binder. It's compact and I can toss it in my purse.

I print all additional info and put it in the pockets provided. I complete the blanks for ADR, park schedule, flight, hotel, etc.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!

and got some great ideas of things to add to my binder but what is a passporter??

Stephanie

Here's my last binder. We also kept our mousekeeping envelopes in it and our oragami animal money tips. LOL

I had Tink pages for notes and such as well.

I made something just like this for our wedding trip - turned into something that could be mistaken for War & Peace but all the newbies thought it was really useful and I had a blast putting it together!

:surfweb:
Yes, I too am a binder girl. Mine is sitting on my desk at all times. I even made spread sheets of the days activities and times of shows. It is so fun and the kids can look at it anytime.

My DH thinks I'm crazy, but he knows the trip will be better when I plan it. I am officially the cruise director of our family.:yay:

I love everyone's ideas -- here's what I include.

1. Maps and directions for hotels and restaurants for the drive down, in case we have to make an emergency stop.
2. Directions for off-site places to go (outlet mall, grocery store, restaurants).
3. Copies of medical insurance cards and directions to hospitals/clinics in our insurance network (check out the CVS Minute Clinics).
4. Daily checklists -- everything we must have before we leave the room each morning.
5. Copies of crowd projections in case of last-minute itinerary changes.
6. An envelope with holes to keep it in the binder for MNSSHP tickets.
7. Scrapbooked pages for the front and back to keep it all pretty!
