Its MGM day! Well, MGM is our least favorite park, but has one of my favorite attractions so well never skip it. We knew that we wouldnt get a ton accomplished today, but we had our must sees and that would have to be enough. We didnt want to have to give up another day to come back. (Did I mention that we dont love this park?!)
Our goals for the day:
-Head straight to Tower of Terror for Hunter to ride for the first time!
-Keep our fingers crossed that Hunter is tall enough to ride Rock N Roller Coaster.
-See Beauty and the Beast show
-Get a good waiter at Prime Time Café
-Watch the parade
-See some characters
-Get more Photopass pics
-See Fantasmic
-Hunter do some pin trading
The plan was to sleep in since we hadnt gotten much sleep in a few days. However, Dave woke up early and I was up by 7:30am. So I grabbed the laptop to check out our pics from the night before. Eventually everyone else started to stir. We ate in the room, and headed out around 10 or so. Today was the day we were all going to be wearing our spiral Mickey head shirts that I made.
I dont remember much about the bus ride so I guess it was uneventful! I do know that our stop was always first so we always got seats. The people getting on at the main bus stop usually had to stand. After we got off the bus we leisurely walked towards the entrance taking some pics of the Tower on our way. I quickly realized that were just not rush into the park and run to our favorite ride kind of people. My mom wants to take pictures and look around, and honestly so do I. So we stopped for a couple of Photopass pictures on our way in, looked at some hats for Megan, and headed towards TOWER OF TERROR!!! Then we got a few more Photopass pics.
The CM said "Be scared".
The CM told us to point at his shoe
This CM was great. He just clicked away
Hunter was so excited by this time. The wait posted was 15 minutes so the boys hopped in line and we agreed to meet at the stone bathroom near the entrance in 20 minutes. I dont like TOT. Let me rephrase that, I HATE TOT. We rode on our Honeymoon and I was sick to my stomach the rest of the day. I love roller coasters, but cant handle free fall rides, so I sat this one out. We decided that 11am wasnt too early for our first Mickey head bar so we had a snack and people watched. When we finished we decided to head over to the TOT exit to meet the boys, maybe see there ride pic, and get Hunter a TOT pin. We sat by the pictures and waited. And waited and waited. We saw one of the VIP guides in their plaid vests waiting for some guests. When they came off of the ride he escorted them back on. We ended up seeing these VIP vests more than the dream team on this trip! Finally I checked my phone. 2 missed calls. OOPS! We headed back down the hill to our meeting spot and there were Hunter and Dave. I assumed Hunter backed out, but Dave said the wait time was more like 5 minutes. I dont know how we missed them! So, Hunter and the Tower of Terror. He didnt love it. Dave said as it dropped, Hunter froze. He didnt yell, scream, or cry, but he didnt laugh and smile either. He just turned a little white. Hunter gives Tower of Terror 2 thumbs down.
Waiting for the boys
Next, we decided to head over to RNR to get Hunter measured and check out the wait. We had a few Photopass pics taken, but they cant find them. Hunters tall enough! YAY!! But the wait time is 40 minutes and FP return time wouldnt work for us so we decide to check back later. The next Beauty and the Beast show starts soon so we head that way. By the time it starts, the theater is not much more than ½ full! Megan LOVED the show and now LOVES the Beast! She talks about him all the time!
Megan watching the show
After the show we headed towards The Hat to come up with a plan. It was around 1:00 by now. On our way we stopped at a pin trading stand. As Hunter looked around Dave had Megan. Dave soon found me and told me that the worker had given Megan a pin. It was the Dream Tinkerbell pin. Megan was so excited. She loved it! Its the little things like this that make us love Disney. Being at this stand talking to the 2 workers, I couldnt tell you if there were any other people in the park. Disney has a way of making you feel like youre the only ones there even when youre surrounded by tens of thousands of people. I felt this many times on this trip. Then it happened. Hunter was looking around, Mom had Megan looking around, and Dave and I were talking to the workers. I think we were talking about the weather in Ohio before we left. The female worker was talking to us and used the D word. As soon as she said it I think she realized what she had said. The other workers jaw dropped open, Dave and I just kept smiling. It was pretty funny. I think she just got caught up in the conversation and forgot where she was for a moment!
Next, I think we headed to Great Movie Ride. Debated about getting in line since the wait time isnt posted here. The worker tried to take my stroller out of my hands. I told her we werent ready yet! It was weird. Its not like we were blocking the entrance of anything. She was a little over zealous! We asked about the wait and decided to ride. Hunter was on the end so I gave him the heads up about the hijacking. We had the gangster scene. We enjoy this ride. My kids did fine. The 10 year old behind us, not so much! She had her face buried in her moms shirt the whole ride! After this, I dont know what we did other than wander around. We shopped under the hat, looked for a bathroom, looked at the times guide. Then Hunter informed me that he didnt want to watch the parade! What?! Well, I should have expected something like this. He is getting older. Im actually surprised that he was as into the characters as he was. Oh well. So we decide to split up. I tell Dave his options, give him the autograph book, and tell him that our ADRs are at 3:45 at Prime Time Café. I show him on the map where he needs to be and have him repeat it back to me. Well see if he shows up!
Next up: The parade, we FINALLY get to eat, and an unexpected DIS meet and me without my lime green Mickey heads!
