When we last left you we were crossing into Crazyland (AKA Main St Hub). This is when we got our first glimpse at the BEAUTIFUL Christmas castle. Oh My Goodness it was so neat! As we crossed the bridge my phone rang/vibrated and gave me a little scare! It was Kimmy. She said that Main Street was CRAZY. This concerned me a bit. We had been secluded from the party crowd so far, but it wasnt looking good. We decided to meet in front of Country Bears and TRY to get a spot for the parade. We weeded our way through the thick parade crowd, and headed toward Frontierland. As we entered there was a line of CMs checking everyone for wrist bands. Dave said that they had someone pulled over who didnt have one. This cracked me up. I pictured the CMs wearing hats with flashing lights on top. We entered Frontierland and it was half EMPTY! Do people not know that the rest of the park is open during the parties?! Whats the appeal of watching the parade in fake snow?! There were tons of parade spots so we picked a spot, and Dave and Hunter headed off for a bathroom break. My castle pictures werent turning out very good so I decided to try the night setting on my camera. Now how do I do that? As I played around with my camera I saw something out of the corner of my eye. AHHHH!!! I yelled out and jumped. The Country Bear who was looking over my shoulder jumped too (thought it was gonna be Kimmy didnt ya?!). Man that bear just scared the Cosmic Rays out of me! Funny now, but I almost punched that bear! Dave and Hunter came back, and I told them my bear story. Soon I heard a voice say, I told Melissa to look for the only weirdos wearing turtlenecks! KIMMY! We made our introductions and it was like we were old friends. What a relief. Ok, maybe she didnt call us weirdos, but I made my family Christmas shirts, and they were gonna wear them! We talked for awhile then I notice Hunter wandering into the pin store behind us. My mom goes after him, and Melissa follows to do a little shopping. And shopping she did! She came out with like 5 shopping bags! Hunter came out and had made his first pin trade. He was so proud of himself! He also showed me that Missa and Kimmy had given him and Megan Disney Dollars. What a kind thing to do! The family next to us had a little girl a bit older than Megan. She was wearing her Cinderella dress and Megan was wearing her Belle dress. We tried to give her some glow sticks, but she was too shy to take them. They tried to give Megan a cookie, but she was too shy to take it. It was cute. Finally the parade began, and I LOVED it!!! Pictures of the toy soldiers just cant do them justice! The sound they make marching down the street is so cool!
After the parade we thought wed check out Slash Mountain. The posted wait was 10 minutes. We decided that we didnt have enough time to wait, ride, and make it over to watch the fireworks. Kimmy said the best fireworks spot is in front of the castle so we headed that way. I snapped a couple castle pics on the way.
It was busy, but not crazy with people. Everyone seemed to be giving eachother space. While we waited we decided to hop in line for the Photopass guy. The longest line we waited it all night! There were about 5 groups in front of us. We got a good shot in front of the castle, and he even took one with our camera. We used it as on our Christmas card and everyone was envious!
The fireworks were wonderful. I teared up again. Fight back the tears Monica. You just met these people!
Megan enjoyed them, but I soon looked over and saw this.
After the fireworks Dave decided that he was feeling pretty tired too, and would take Megan back to the room.
Me: Youre going to take her back by yourself?
Dave: Yes
Me: Are you going to take the stroller too?
Dave: Yes
Me: Will you take the bag?
Dave: Yes
Me: COOL!!!
We dug through the big bag to get the things we needed which took about 10 minutes! Kimmy and Melissa were very patient. We said our goodbyes and we were of to Splash Mountain. The posted wait was 10 minutes which we discovered meant however long it takes to walk to the ride! My mom sat this one out. She didnt want to get wet. I hadnt rode this in 9 years, but I didnt think that you got soaked. Well, I was wrong! We went around the curve, past the logs coming down the big hill, and SPLASH! Right in the side of my face! I was really wet and we hadnt even gone down a hill yet! We all laughed through the whole ride and Hunter loved it! When we got off Hunter decided that we needed to ride Big Thunder Mountain to dry off! Wait 5 minutes and were riding the rails. Very cool at night! By now Melissa is Hunters new best friend so he wants to ride Haunted Mansion with her. So we walk on that. Its me and Mom, Hunter and Melissa, and Kimmy and the hitchhiker ghost. We all liked the refurbishments. We decide to head to Fantasyland, but first we pop into Columbia Harbor House for some free hot chocolate and cookies. There were very long lines of
..HOT CHOCOLATE! Not many people though. YUMMY!!! The best hot chocolate ever! We should have had seconds! As we entered Fantasyland Hunter wanted to ride everything, but I wanted to wait til we had Megan with us. We did get in line for Pooh. As we got into our car Eeyore was getting out of the car behind us! Next we decided to go meet Donald Duck at his tree lot.
After Donald we headed to Tommorrowland Transit Authority.
The ride was half over before I looked back and noticed that Kimmy and Melissa were gone! Our cars had split up and I didnt even notice! Too caught up in the magic I guess! As we rode along Hunter noticed that they were still loading onto Space Mountain and wanted to ride, but when we got down there they had closed off the line. It was midnight and the party was over. Kimmy and Melissa decided to get a few more Photopass pictures so we sadly said our goodbyes. What a great night! We headed out of the park. I dont remember the wait or the bus ride. I dont think we waited long. I do remember that Hunter fell asleep on me and I attempted to carry him, but that only lasted about 10 steps. That boy is getting heavy! We got to the room around 1:00am and crashed.
The Dave Report: Dave headed out of the park with a ton of other people so he decided to sit on a bench for awhile. He eventually got in the bus line and Megan woke up. He waited until he could be 1st in line for the bus so he could shove the stroller under a seat. They got back to the room, had a snack, watched some TV. A nice father daughter night!
Next up: My little boy takes on the Tower. Or does he? A CM just cussed at me!
