Disney before and after kids...

good question!

i would have to say each has it's advantages, but i looove Disney with my kids! their faces say it all (and now i get to take a nap in the afternoon!)

There are pro's and con's to each. I loved going before kids. We could do what we wanted. I got to actually chew and enjoy my food. We went out at night. But life is just better with my son. To see the magic through his eyes is the best feeling in the world. He loves the characters and runs up to them screaming with excitement. I guess for me that makes me realize how wonderful life is. And at night after we tuck him into bed and kids nite out shows up so that we can go out and act like adults I realize how wonderful my husband is too. Thats what I love about Disney World you get to enjoy it through your kids but the kid in you comes out too.

Hands down with kids, no questions asked!! Yes I would love to go back with DH by ourselves because we never went together without kids we went before we were together but I absolutely enjoy myself more now than when I went without kids. It is the ultimate family time, no worries, everything is disnefied!

Hands down-AFTER KIDS!!! Just a totally different experience. For me, I equate it with Christmas morning and watching everyone open their presents-that is the total joy for me. I could care less if there is a present under the tree for me at all! I just love seeing my kids light up (the way I STILL do at Disney) as they see and experience everything. Going with kids doesn't mean missing out on things either. Me and DH had the art of switching off down to a science-thank goodness I learned about that one, or I would not have been a happy camper. Now the kids are in their teens, so they do everything we do. In the end, I've never been on a trip to Disney and thought to myself...I wish we didn't have the kids with us, but I have been on a trip to Disney without them (guilty pleasure, forced by DH) and thought...I wish they WERE here with us. I may be weird though...everyone is different. :rotfl2:

I can't believe I'm saying this but I have to admit it's more fun WITH kids! DH and I went to Disney for our honeymoon and had so much fun I came back and shocked my mother by saying I couldn't believe anyone would take kids to WDW. Now that I have kids (6 & 4) it is even more fun to see the magic through their eyes. Plus, I think about the only thing we would do differently without kids is skip the characters- which I enjoy almost as much as the kids. Oh, I could do without hours spent in the various playgrounds!

We didn't go together before kids (both went seperately) but i'd have to say that going with our son was great! Seeing him enjoy all the sights was awesome! My parents went with us, so we were able to enjoy a little time alone at each park, but the whole time I kept wondering what DS was doing!

Most definitely after kids.... the look of wonder and excitment in their eyes is absolutely priceless :)

My DH and I went for our 2nd anniversary back in '99 and had a blast! He kept telling me "you expect me to go to Disney and turn into a kid again and it's just not going to happen". Well guess what, it did! That was the 2nd time I me and DH had been to Disney, but this was the 1st trip together. We are going in June with our DD, DS, DDad and DMom. I can't wait! I cannot wait to see the look in my DD's eyes when she sees Cinderella's Castle. I know I will have to take tissue with me that day! I will have to say that with kids will be the best for us too, but then again I have my parents going so they will help out with the kids and I'm hoping that DH and I get to go out at least one time by ourselves!;)

:goodvibes Oh, without a doubt, AFTER KIDS. To see your kids' faces light up at the magic of Disney is just beyond words. DH and I went there on our honeymoon and again the year after, and I certainly can't wait to go again someday just the two of us. Took our boys when they were 5 & 1, and just went this past October with they boys (then 11 & 15) and our DD who turned 7 there and it was just priceless. Some of the best memories of our lives!!!:) Can't be beat!

This upcoming trip will be my 6th trip, but my children's first. I am beyond excited to make new Disney memories with them and see it through their eyes.
I also can't wait to go on the rides with them that were my favorite when I was a child, such as Small World, Pirates, tea cups, and many more!:cloud9:
