Disney Barbie Dolls

Hi, all - this is my first post to this board, but even through my scouring, have found nothing on this topic. I own some of the rather obscure Disney dolls, such as the Pirates of Caribbean pirate, and Davy Crockett (thanks to Ebay). I have approximately 60 dolls in my collection. Anyone else out there have this obsession???? Just curious!

Let me tell you that your 60 is nothing compared to mine. I have a closet full that are stacked like books top to bottom 2 and 3 rows deep in the closet. They include Disney, Happy Holiday and other various ones. All mint in the box. So you are not alone in this obsession. Welcome to the club!!

Me Too. I also have a full closet full of Barbie Dolls. My mom works for Mattel, so she started me out young.

Yep, I collect too - have been since 1992. I have a little over 100 dolls, and they are 99% Barbie. Holidays, Hallmark, Great Eras, Scarletts, DOTW, Bob Mackie, etc....

I have let my subscription to Barbie Bazzar go since I moved to Orlando, mostly b/c I just don't have the time to collect like I used to. In fact, my collection is mostly at my dad's house, waiting for me.

Barbie Collectables has a message board (again, I don't get there much since I work 7 days a week), but I have found it to be pretty good if you are looking for info and insight on stuff.

Cool - Glad to hear I'm not the only one! I figure my obsession for one particular thing isn't too bad considering I worked for the Disney Store for 7 years, and could have started a snow globe or cel obsession, which would have been horrendous - especially for the pocketbook!!!! There are actually only two dolls that I would love to own, and they are the Ursula Sea Witch doll, and the Jessica Rabbit doll. They are always so expensive on Ebay, so have sorta stalled on my buying craze. Do any of you own these beautiful Disney dolls? If so - I'm envious!!!!

My daughter (24) and I both collect Dolls. I have only Disney dolls but she has Disney plus all of the Holiday Barbies from 1988 on. She has quite a few other Barbies too like Phantom of the Opera, and Lord of the Rings.

I collect mostly Tinker Bell, DD collects Belle. I'm partial to the Mattel Disney dolls, and was sad when Disney switched from Mattel to Hasbro and their own designer. Those dolls just don't have the quality of the Mattel dolls.

I do also have a few Disney Madame Alexander Dolls and Marie Osmond dolls.

I only had ONE doll as a child. Guess I'm making up for it now!!

I don't have either of these, although I should have Jessica Rabbit (LOL). I have the Cruella's.

I do have some cels and WDCC pieces, as a result from working at TDS/WDW. There are a couple of older Doll & Teddy Bear convention dolls I would not mind having. I don't even know if Mattel does a Barbie for the convention. Do you guys know, and if so, when the convention is this year? I think in December?

Thanks for the info! Hopefully they will have a public day so I can check it out! It gets so crazy here during the holidays - I will at least have a chance to check it out in May.

There has not been a Barbie at the Teddy Bear and Doll for a few years now.

I had about 60 or so myself also in a closet in mint condition thanks to ebay also. Have no one to leave them to. I lost my brother last March and after cleaning out his apartment and leaving half of his stuff behind I took all the dolls out of the closet and had all the kids in the neighborhood come over and take them home. It does sound nuts but I said my obsession was out of hand. Take them out of the boxes and enjoy them....
