Disney Barbershop

thanks for the info and the pic's

we're hoping to do this for our then 18 mo DD who has not had a haircut either yet. She doens't have alot of hair either, but if the line isn't to bad it will be great.

Anyone know the specific hours. Are they open for the duration of park hours or do they close early?

Thanks

did your son have a lot of hair??? My DD will be 8 months and doesn't really have a lot, I can't put a pig tail or anything in maybe a clip to make it go off to the side. I really want to do this, but it may be silly when she doesn't have anything to clip.

He had so much hair we had to put a headband on him to keep the hair out of his eyes!

I am sure they see little ones with much less hair too! It is a special thing and they understabd that. They will cut as little or as much hair as you want. Go for it! :thumbsup2

bbb doesn't cut hair. I did hear on another board that the barbershop will cut both boys and girls hair and even adults. We thought it rather expensive when we looked into it last year. I think they close at 5:00

They close the doors promptly at 5 PM. Not 5:01, but 5:00. If you're line at that time, you're fine. I *think* they open at 9 AM.

Thanks agian for even more info, I was thinking I should ask the cost too...need to budget it in. I'm assuming a nice tip too yes?

PS my girlfriend went on her Mickeymoon at the World and had grown her hair out for the wedding, Day1 she had an appt at the GF and said it was the BEST haircut ever! If she could fly down every month to just get that haircut she would!

We went first thing when the park opened. We beligned for the barbershop and were first ones standing there. They opened the doors a few minutes later. When we left there were 3-4 families waiting. We didn't want to be waiting with a 5 year old and 1 year old!

Definitely worth the time!

Here are some of our pics from our first haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop in March 2007. We arrived shortly after 9am and our wait was only about 10 minutes. This was our DS first haircut on his first birthday!! Very special!!

First Haircut Ears:

OK, so our kids are way passed the first haircut stage but my DH always has his haircut there! They give a really nice haircut. Michael will also do Mickey head designs on the back of your head with colored gel. My husband is a great sport so he went along with it. If you go as soon as the park opens the wait is not terribly long but does get heavier as the morning goes on. Love watching the kids getting their first haircut and getting their first pair of ears and stickers all over them! And a little pixie dust that you have sprinkled on you doesn't hurt either.

We had our youngest's hair cut there last year, we got there right at open (9am), and we were number one in line. And actually there was only one other group waiting with us, no real line ever formed in the morning. We were the only ones in there for a bit, and when we left only one other group was just coming in.

My youngest had already had haircuts, but they humoured us and made it his "first" haircut so he got all the goodies. :) As a WDW fanatic, I love the certificate and ears he got, wonderful keepsakes!

After they did my son, they did my dh! He needed a fresh buzz so they did that, and then she put a blue Mickey head on the back of his head! lol For thes rest of the day he got a lot of attention and several men asked him where he got it, they wanted one too! :)

Anyway, I think "doing" the barber shop is a must do thing once anyway. I'm sure we'll go back now that we know it doesn't have to take a long time if you go at open. My older boys want Mickey heads like my dh had. :)

I went with every intention of getting my daughters first haircut there. But there was something about the florida humidity that made her hair so darn curly that I couldn't bring myself to do it!!! So dh had his done. :D He loved it! They put tons and tons of pixie dust on him. :) Next time we go, I'm having everyones hair cut!!!! :D

When I go in May I want to get my hair trimmed, (18 female here), Im tryign to talk DBF into letting his beard grow and getting it trimmed at disney!

My DH had his cut at the BC, they did such a good job (at least on a man) that my DS had his done too!
