I am trying to decide whether to buy the books for my two DSs before we leave or onsite at WDW. Does anyone know the approximate cost of autograph books onsite? Are they spiral bound or hardbound or are both types offered? Are they large enough for 4 x 6 photos to be added?

I've looked online at auction sites for the books and, honestly, the spiral bound ones that seem to be most common look like they should cost about 99 cents at Walmart but are a heck of a lot more than that. My boys are young - 4 and 17 months - so I am looking for durable and archival quality more than anything else.

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

I just purchased (2) 7X7 Creative Memories Disney albums to use as my boys autograph books. They are a bit more pricey ($24)than a standard auto. book, but, I plan to take pictures of them getting each autograph and work that into their Character album. I know for sure they are archival quality and I'm going to scrapbook anyway, so that's what I decided to do.

i found some 4x6 books at a hallmark; haven't decided what i'm going to use for my 2 grandbrats yet but i have looked at a LOT of different types; they are called journals and they have one side for pics and the other side lined and blank (for autographs, instead of journaling, i'm thinkin..) i was also thinking of making one.. the 8x8 scrapbooks have the pages in them that are plastic covered.. i was thinking of taking the disney pages in a box and having the autographs so i could slip them in and out and take pics for the other side.. any other ideas out there?? k2

The ones you can buy at WDW are inexpensive (about $7) and sturdy. They're not spiral bound. They sell them EVERYWHERE, in every shop and at every kiosk. If you want an autograph book, I'd go with the real deal.

That said, when my now almost-5yo was a toddler, I made her a little Disney blankie with a Minnie print on one side and fleece on the other. We had the characters autograph the Minnie side. It gets a lot more visibility and use than the autograph books!

I bought autograph books for my neice and nephew at the Dollar store. They were surprisingly nice.
