I'm beginning to think I was nuts to plan a trip at Christmas time (Dec. 18-23)
We've visited there frequently, but usually at much less busy times. Any helpful hints would be appreciated. Family of four - two boys- 14 and 20 years old.

Hello

We will be there as well but we are a little crazier since we arrive there on Christmas eve 12/24-12/29.:confused3
I have learned that you have to pick what your must do's are in all the parks and plan you adrs accordingly. You won't be able to do everything but if you have a plan, it will go smoother. Oh, if you are staying on site take advantage of EMH, or get there for rope drop. Hope this helps

What she said. :thumbsup2 I second all of DreamingPink's comments.

Will it be busy? Yes. Will parks close at midday due to being at capacity? Yes.

But that doesn't mean you can't have a great time, it just takes a bit more planning than if you were going at a low-crowd time.

But HAVE FUN!! We are leaving the 26th and coming back the 4th of January and couldn't be more pumped.

Be prepared to deal with crowds.
I've been Christmas week before, and when they say the crowds are 10's, it's really like 11's, especially on Christmas Day.

Just try your hardest to be patient and be flexible!

And remember, if the parks are packed, chances are your hotel may not be --so if you want to go in the pool, the mid day is a great time to do it.

Try to get as much done as you can early in your visit as it will get heavier as the week goes on. Our schools do not get out till 22nd so maybe it will be a little less busy early in the trip.

Thanks everyone! I'm getting more excited. Can anyone give me an idea of what the weather may be like the 19th -23rd?

Wait, then check the weather just before you go. It can truly vary. I'd at LEAST pack a jacket for everyone. My kids have gone into the swimming pool in December, but not me! Of course, they go from pool to hot tub and back.

Do go with a plan. It will get a bit crowded, but nothing like the following week (which is nuts, fun but nuts, and I'd not recommend for anyone who hasn't been many times before).

Sorry, just read you've been before many times. You'll be fine. It's the next week that is nuts.

I pack jeans and sweats, and a jacket, and just see what else you need. I pack right before we go.

Have a great time!
