We've done WDW before but only twice with our disabled children so we're still learning. We are going again the first week of February and staying at BWV. I'm hoping this will be a quiet week.

We won't be doing the headliner attractions since my son can't transfer from his wheelchair but want to try more shows and wheelchair friendly rides. What do you suggest we try? What other forms of entertainment might we enjoy at the parks? We do plan on taking our daughter on a few of the Fantasyland attractions but her main joy is in people watching. We will hit all 4 parks but no water parks.

I guess what I'm asking is for suggestions is for the lesser known enjoyment at the parks such as street shows that we might enjoy. Anyone?

If you go to the front desk at your resort, they can give you a map for each of the 4 parks that is made for guests with disabilities. It tells you which attractions you can stay in a wheelchair for. Off the top of my head, here are a few I thought of:

Animal kingdom
Kilimanjaro Safari has a wheelchair jeep your child can stay in
Festival of the lion king
Finding nemo musical
It's tough to be a bug movie if your child is ok with bugs
Most of the walking trails are accessible

Epcot
All of the movies in the countries
There are lots of events and shows that happen at the countries. Be sure to get a times guide from Epcot
Illuminations
Captain eo
Ellen's energy adventure
I think journey into imagination has a wheelchair car
Living with the land has a wheelchair car
Nemo has a wheelchair car
The Mexico caballeros boat ride also has a wheelchair boat

Hollywood studios
Backlot tour has a wheelchair car
Fantastic
Muppet vision 3d movie
Toy story mania has a wheelchair car where he doesn't have to transfer
Disney jr on stage
Indiana jones show
Beauty and the beast show
Lights motor action show
Little mermaid show
American idol

Magic kingdom
Parades
Fireworks
Castle shows
Tiki room
Jungle cruise has a wheelchair car
Pooh ride has a wheelchair car
Philharmagic movie
Small world has a wheelchair boat
Little mermaid ride has a wheelchair car
Carousel of progress
Monsters inc laugh floor
Fireworks

I am sure there are more things. I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

IMO, Hollywood Studios has the best street entertainers on property.

I'd also check out kennythepirate dot com for planning the maximum amount of character meet and greets - if attractions aren't a priority that could be a fin alternative.

Check out this link on Disney's website https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/

My son loves Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, Agent P at Epcot, and Wilderness Explorers at AK.

I too like to people watch. One of my favorites is to pick a spot near Splash Mountain or River Rapids and park my scooter. I make sure I am in a "dry" zone. Watching the people's reactions as they come off all wet or not so wet is funny. My husband is always the wettest in the bunch.

For shows, don't miss "Finding Nemo" in AK. Even if you have to wait for a wheelchair spot. This one is the best of Disney since they closed "The Hunchback" at the old studios. I agree, the street entertainers are very good at the studios.

We have been to WDW in early Feb. I do not recall huge crowds except on weekend days. Those were local families. There were local school tours in EPCOT during the day but they were not too bad. There are less of them since EPCOT is more thrill and less education now.

Enjoy!

Thank you for this very informative list! Just what I was wondering myself as my travel companion for an upcoming trip will be in a wheelchair for the first time.
