Am I nuts?? We booked a few weeks ago and then surprise, I just found out I am PG!! This will be baby #3 for us and I will be about 28 weeks when we go.

Has anyone ever gone PG and had a good time? I guess I should add that I had some pelvic issues when I was PG with #2 but I am in better shape this time around (if that will make any difference in the long run)

The other option is to wait until May, but then we'll have to stay at a mod and not pop (5 of us then) as well as pay for DD#2 since she'll be 3 by then. We aren't the type that go every year so it's Sept. w/ free dining at POP at 28 weeks preggo or May 2011 with 2 kids and a 5 month old.

Any help would be appreciated :goodvibes

I have done WDW pregnant a few times..both in early and later preg. I have always had a great time! We did rest a bit more and i made sure to drink a ton of water. I went on all the rides that didn't have a height requirement and just had fun, it is totally doable!

I was pregnant on both of my last trips to Disneyland. This fall will be the first one I go on w/ the fam where I'm not. I didn't feel as if I was missing out on much.

I have also done WDW pregnant twice - once at 12 weeks and once at 23 weeks. It is doable. Drink lots of water. We did go a little slower than normal and I needed a few extra rests, but it wasn't drastically different. I just skipped the attractions with pregnancy warnings. We still had a great time and I would do it again!

Thanks ladies!

For those of you that have been PG, how often do you go? I guess my concern is that this is our big trip, we probably won't be for another 3 years or so. If you had to choose between going PG or not, what would you choose?

Keeping in mind of course the fact that if we go when I am PG, it will be with FD and only one paying child at a value. In May, I would have a baby, no promotion and stay at mod. Then again, we'd have another year to save $$!

I'm pretty sure that you can still stay at POP in May with 2 adults 2 kids and an one under 3. It's worth checking on. But with that said I went at 31 weeks and had a fantastic time. The money saved on free dining and one child free I think I'd probably go in September and put the money you save into an account to start saving for that next trip :)

We are going to be staying at Pop with 2 adults 2 kids and 1 infant in Sept. So you should still be able to be at a value resort.

I am 29 weeks now with baby #3 and personally would not be able to do all the walking involved with WDW. But that's just me. If I'm on my feet for more than an hour I lose feeling in my legs and get shooting pains. But if you are in good shape it may be do-able.

You can 100% stay at Pop or any other Value with 2 adults, 2 children and a child under 3. :)

I have and it was fine. I do have to take it slower. Also--each pregnancy is different. One trip that I took further along in my 3rd pregnancy...I couldn't keep up with people and my feet were painfully aching so I rented an ECV the second day (I just couldn't physically participate with my group if I didn't).

But this pregnancy--I have gone about the same time and had no issues. Each pregnancy is different and how Disney will be at 7 months depends on how this particular pregnancy is treating you at the time.

I'd be open to ECV rental if the need arises and/or having trip insurance to cancel if you find that walking to your mailbox is too difficult.

If I had limited opportunity to visit disney...I'd probably choose to not go until after baby was born. But I've been enough in my life that I don't care one way or the other. This pregnancy though--my ability to consume the yummy food has been compromised. My tummy just doesn't have the room and it seems very little food that I enjoy and my tummy digests fine--leaves me feeling like I ate a whole buffet.:guilty:

So if the option is to go at 7 months pregnant or wait 3 years--I'd suck it up and go while pregnant. JUst remember that you'll have to enjoy the parks differently.

I've never been pg, but my mom was pg with my brother on my first trip in Aug 79--ages ago. :) She had some bleeding and had to take it easy after a couple days. She would return to the room during the hottest part of the day to rest. If you decide to go, just pace yourself and have fun!

I've gone pg but it was very early on and the most difficult thing for me was the horrible all day sickness. I think you'd probably be fine traveling at 28 weeks though I would make sure you have the ability to cancel and/or re-schedule in the event something comes up with the pregnancy that prevents you from traveling. I am almost 24 weeks pg and I feel like I could do WDW right now.

Thanks again everyone!

So..can we keep our ressie and then decide as we get closer to change our dates to May 2011 instead? I am assuming there would be a penalty right? Or do we have to decide byt the 90 day mark?

thanks so much!!:goodvibes

I have been to DL at 7 months pg and had a great time didn't feel like I was missing out on much (I am not one for scary rides anyways) I just took things a litlle slower and made sure to keep hydrated. We will be going again in may and I will be 5.5 mnths pg and am looking forward to anouther fun trip

I am 28 weeks pregnant right now and will be going to Disney in a week. My doctor said it was perfectly fine. I never thought I would be going this late in my pregnancy but I am happy to be able to go. It is hard for me to move around right now and a little uncomfortable, but my 2 little ones keep my mind off that. I plan to go really slow and take many breaks. It helps to keep in shape before you go I'm sure. Good luck with your decision!

I plan to go in mid-june and am 26/27 weeks pg now. I would feel pretty good going at this point in my pg. I'm just starting to swell in the feet, ankles and legs, but my belly is still feels pretty small (though I am measuing on target) and I am not yet waddling. I think you will be OK, as long as your pg is complication free. I'm not sure what kind of pelvic issues you had, but I am normally loose-jointed and when things start to losen up "down there" from the pg hormones, I can't even lay or sit down without being in severe pain. I am not feeling that yet at 26/27 weeks.

I am concerned about going just a month before my due date, but if we postpone, we also won't be able to go back until May 2011 and I promised the kids we would go for DD's 7th b-day before I found out I was pg. My plan is to avoid the hottest parts of the day, sit frequently and mabe stick to half-days at the parks if it is too much.

I should mention that we went last May and are hopeful to go next May as well. If I had to wait another 3 years, then I would wait to go when I was not pg.

Good luck!

I went at 33 weeks PG in mid-Aug with baby #2. It was VERY hot and September probably wont be much better. However, I just drank lots of water and we took our time. When my DH and DD (almost 5 at the time) did rides that I couldn't do, I plopped onto a shady bench, kicked my feet up, and rested. And at night, DH massaged my swollen and aching feet! I say do it!

I went around 7 months along with both my boys. Pregnancies were both fairly easy and my OBGYN encouraged me to go with both. Both trips were great as we didn't rush at all and I people watched a lot. We went for a swim each afternoon and in the evening, DH would sit in the pool spa while I sat on the edge and soaked my feet.

Both trips were "vacations" as we s-l-o-w-e-d down A LOT! :cool2:

I went in November, just at the beginning of the 2nd trimester, with my Dr's blessing. He did tell me to follow the posted rules about pregnant women not going on certain rides. I was fine on that trip; a little tired but had a great time, and that was Thanksgiving week w/ all the crowds! However, we were also supposed to go for Spring Break a few weeks ago, and I am so glad that we cancelled. I ended up having a minor complication and there is no way my OB would have let me travel. Also, I am 38 and it's been 8 years since my last pregnancy; this one has been a lot harder on me. There is no way that I would have been able to keep up with my DD, or ride most of the rides, and the heat would have done me in.

Just remember that every pregnancy is different, you never know what might be going on at 28 weeks, and be flexible. The most important thing is the health of your baby, and WDW isn't going anywhere. But if you are doing well, and baby is doing well, go and have fun! More power to you!!!

Congrats on your baby!!

I'm glad to see this post. I'm 18 weeks pg w/ my 2nd and we have a trip planned for early June when I'll be 23/24 weeks. I'm not *too* concerned.

We planned for this week b/c DS's childcare provider is taking a week's vacation that week and we wanted to have one more vaca as a family of 3. My son will be 4 on Aug 1 and is now tall enough to ride most of the height requirement rides - he is 41". I'm looking forward to being able to ride Soarin' with him!

My first pregnancy, we did a cruise and I was probably around 20 weeks at that point. It wasn't too bad.

I went at 7months when I was carrying my DS. He is almost 8 now and loves seeing pictures of me from that trip. He says it was his first Disney trip ;)
I had a great time. I had a big hat for keeping the sun off and drank lots of water! Back then the GF spa had a special treatment for pregnant women. Check into it and take the afternoon for yourself if they still offer it :goodvibes
And have fun...the "lazy river" was my friend that trip while we were down that year too.
