Disney area villas?

We are a family of 6 and enjoy staying at one of the many nearby pool home/villas. The one we stayed at 14 mo ago was a bit too far away. (Davenport- approx 15-20 min drive from WDW) So we want to stay closer this time.
Before I spend hours on the internet viewing and inquiring about dozens of homes, does anyone have a villa that they have rented in the past that is within 5-7 mi of WDW and had good rates?

Sorry, I've never personnally stayed at any off site villas but I have seen lots of them listed on ebay if that's any help. Also, if you're looking to stay on sight at all you may want to look into renting points from a DVC member for a DVC villa. It can cost dramatically less than booking directly through Disney and you get all of the on sight Disney resort priveleges

we find the best places are in Indian Pointe off Poinciana. It is only about 5 to 10 minitues from wdw and the rates are great.

Just a word of caution about homes listed on E Bay .There have been case recently where some people who are lisitng homes do not own them and once they have collected the money are never heard of again .Always try to verify the ownership if you decide to go this route .
Crazy mom- remember Davenport covers a wide area -from the junction of the 192/27 in the north to Thousand oaks in the east and southern dunes in the south so there aresome communiites that are closer than others .
