Disney App Activity Planning

I did some searching and most of the threads or responses speak to when I can reserve activities on the boat... I get this part.

My question is that on the app, all I see is the Royal Tea Party listed for my specific cruise/reservation. I am wanting to reserve spots for my daughter in the BBB, Royal Gathering, etc. but the only event showing right now is the Tea Party. Again, I am aware that I cannot actually reserve anything until my specified date but are all the other events/activities going to populate on the app the date I can book? Seems like I am going to be scrambling to get things if I'm not sure where to find them on the app.

Everything will show up at midnight the day you are eligible to book. It's strange that you can see the Royal Tea Party now though?

I can see the event but it does not shows times or give me the option to reserve. But that is the only thing I can see. I believe that Royal Gathering open on my Check In date if I have read correctly so that may be why I cannot see this as well.

The Royal Gathering is about the only thing that no one can book until 30 days before the sail date. Nearly everything else is booked based on Castaway Club (CC) Status. As a first time cruiser with no CC status, you can start booking (everything except for the Royal Gathering) at 75 days prior to your sail date. Since booking for the Royal Gathering and your online check in window both open at midnight eastern on the same day, you will need to decide which is a priority.

You won't be able to see the specific activities and times available on your cruise until your booking window opens.

Starting 75 days before your cruise, if you go to My Plans, you will have opportunity to see and book the activities available each day, including excursions, adult dining and beverage tastings, spa treatments, and BBB. The My Plans box in the Home page app should tell you the exact date that you are able to start booking. Where you can currently see only your itinerary, there will be an Add Activity button that opens booking pages for Dining, Onboard Fun, Spa, and maybe 1 or 2 others that I can't remember.

Starting 30 days before your cruise, at the same time as Online Check-In opens, you will also be able to book Royal Gathering. The exact date for this is in the My Online Check-In box on the app. When the Royal Gathering becomes available, it will be added to the Onboard Fun category on the daily listings in My Plans.

I agree that the way activity booking works is not obvious in advance. Just for added confusion, once you are on Disney Cruise WiFi at the terminal or onboard the ship, the DCL app will change completely and list every activity for every day, including those that don't require booking in advance, along with dining times and menus and other useful information.

Also, make sure everyone has downloaded the DCL Navigator app on to their smart device prior to leaving home. You don't need a Disney Account to use the Navigator app while on-board the ship. Once you've connected to the ships WiFi (DCL-GUEST) after arriving at the terminal, all you will need to enter into the app is your name, date of birth and stateroom number. You will then have access to the full schedule of activities, dining information (rotation, table number, menus), and any pre-booked items (adult dining, spa, bbb, etc.). You also don't need to purchase an internet package to use the Navigator app while on-board.
