I'm done. Can't afford it again it anymore..the magic is lost. I'm a single mom who wanted to pass on my love of my Disney to my daughter...but I can't afford it anymore and it makes me sad.

It’s gotten quite $$$ hasn’t it?

Maybe you can do a short trip once a year/ every few years?

FYI the Disney visa has great discounts in Jan-April each year, I usually use the visa discount vs the AP for that time.:flower1:

It has gotten pricey.

What isn't clear to me though is what has ended for you. Are you just not renewing your AP?? Or do you find even visiting beyond your reach now? (Can't help but notice your post includes "Heading to WDW October 5th to the 12th!!!" Is that still on?)

And does "the magic is lost" mean you are done Disneying completely?

This is probably my last year also. I'm out of state and have had one 4 times now in the last 6 years and went without for in between trips. We get super cheap flights but the hotel costs have become insane. In recent years, as a family of 5 we stayed at CBR for $150 a night with a discount now it's often over $200 even discounted. More recently, we went to Pop with a discount for $140 a night. That used to be $85-90. Maybe not a huge difference for one night but over the span of a week that adds up fast. The food costs and everything else that has increased just add more than I can justify to keep going so often as well. Our income just isn't increasing fast enough to keep up. We've made cuts along the way and dropped things to keep going but there isn't much else to drop at this point.

In a few weeks I'm staying offsite for the first time in over a decade. Using points for a few free nights at a Hampton Inn. I also totally screwed up and didn't realize it was the start of the 2 week block out for local APs so I had to buy a 3 day ticket for my BF.

My pass expires in November so I hope to fit in one last trip to do F&W and check out the new Star Wars section of HS with my oldest, but that may be it for my AP days.

My family has had annual passes since 2007. They expire in May and we aren’t renewing. The parks have just gotten too crowded for us - every time we try to visit.

We are also dvc and have been renting out our points for the last couple of years and using the proceeds on Disney cruises.

I've had one for 5 or 6 years now and it expired in December and I'm not renewing. It's not because of price or not wanting to go to WDW any longer though. We just bought a RV so honey and the dog can travel with me and honey isn't as big a fan as I am. We are going to the Fort in Oct. for 5 days but that is the only trip I have to WDW planned this year so an AP didn't make sense. We will just be making more trips to other places now, which makes me happy and sad at the same time. I love to travel and am thrilled that honey will now be going with me but I love me some WDW and have been going for over 35 years, the last few years 2 and 3 times a year so it makes me sad that I won't be going as often as before.
