I'm use to working with 12x12 books - I've never done anything different. Our trip is in 33 days and when we get back I love to scrapbook the pictures while everything is fresh - also helps me get over not being there. Only problem is that I also have another project to start that I am excited about - pictures of my brother and I when we were kids - this will definately be a 12x12 album. The cost is what gets me... I was thinking of doing an 8x10 album of the disney pictures but I'm not sure if I will be able to get the look that I am striving for. What do you think?

I don't know about you but I take alot of pics. My last trip took 2 full 12 x 12 albums. My suggestions is don't scrimp on memories.

I think if you are used to 12x12 albums, you will have a hard time adjusting to the smaller size, esp if you take a lot of photos! I would spend the $ and get the larger album. Plus, if you get the smaller album, you might end up spending more on pages/paper/stickers as you will probably end up doing more pages since you can't fit as many photos on one page.

I took 32 rolls in 4 1/2 days, so I defintely stayed with 12 x 12, and it still took up 2 full albums with refills added. Also, it is very, very difficult to go to an unfamiliar size. I just did a 6 x 6 for my boss for Christmas and it was SO HARD!!! Only one picture per page, which I am so not used to.

Instead of downsizing have you thought of using some of the Becky Higgins sketches? I used those A LOT in my last Disney albums from our trip last March, and plan on using them again from our trip THIS March...they were a lifesaver...as well as a timesaver. You can fit upwards of 13 pictures on some of them. Just an idea to help you maximize your pictures AND your time.

What are "the Becky Higgins sketches"?

I'm getting ready to tackle two DCL cruises from 2000 and 2002 BEFORE I go on cruise 3 in 2004.

:wave2: Hi, Miss Eeyore from a fellow Oregonian...not too many of us on these boards! I am from Oregon City, just south of Portland. :D

I highly recommend Becky Higgin's. There is usually one sketchin the Creating Keepsakes Magazine each month with sample layouts. The attached link shows a sample sketch you can use for your layout. I love it because it allows you to be creative without copying somone's idea.

Also, Becky did a book full of sketches. The book is divided out into sketches by number of photos. They range anywhere from 4 to 5 per page up to 10 plus per page. You find the book everywhere. I even seen it at Barnes and Nobles. But here's the link from CK.

Have FUN!!

stick with the 12x12, especially with disney stuff. i bought a disney 81/2x11 album, even though i was used to 12x12 and regretted it.

Another good idea is to use the color blocking templates. You get a ton of pics on one page! Plus I think they really look nice completed.

Obviously I'm kind of new to all this. The only instruction I've had was a CTMH speed album class, using the 6x6 pages.
