As opposed to seeing something WDW offers and complaining that it used to be free and pouting and stamping my foot until WDW does what i want it to? Except it's not really the same because while the crowds may have thinned late, there was no real guarantee thy would?
Yeah, I think there's a lot of value in knowing the crowds will be insanely small rather than hoping they're just reduced. And there's value in seeing something WDW offers and deciding -- independent of the past or other experiences--whether it's a good deal for my family. Seven (or even 4) to 2 seems to be a good deal, especially when the crowds are forcibly reduced for the last three hours.
It doesn't matter what they've done in the past, all that matters on a go forward is what they are doing now. And if you think that if DAH fails, WDW will just stay open later as a reparation for trying something and it not working, I think you'll end up disappointed.
