I'll be 34 days post op by the time I plan on hitting space mountain and other great rides. Has anyone ever tried this? Hitting the rides one month after hernia surgery ?

Yikes. That'd make me a bit nervous personally, but if your doctor says you're good to go you should be fine. I'd definitely discuss it with them though. Everyone heals differently.

DH was at WDW a couple months after laproscopic iguinal surgery. He was still tender due to scar tissue. He didn't avoid rough rides like Dinosaur and had no extra pain from rides like that. What he had to be careful of was things like standing on the bus due to side to side/twisting motions while balancing. He had no trouble at all with anything where he was sitting. This is just his experience. Obviously YMMV.

Definitely check with your doctor.

My husband has done this 2X. He made sure that he told his doctor and his operation was a number of weeks before out trip. The doctor said he would be fine. M husband is not a huge roller coaster person, but he did go on almost all the rides. I want to add that he is a cancer survivor also and did Disney after his major surgery. He has said that Disney makes him have something to look forward to. As long as your doctor feels that it's ok and you feel ok then go for it!! Start with the "smaller" rides and see how you feel. We love Disney because we go at our own pace and sit when we need to. As I said Disney just makes us feel better!! Have fun and...

Enjoy The Magic!!

I would not have been able to ride a roller coaster 34 days after my hernia surgery. Even just sitting on a hard chair was something I could feel. Being thrown around on a ride like Space Mountain at WDW would have been painful.

Not Disney, but I went to Great America theme park near San Jose, CA, three weeks after laproscopic hernia surgery. Rode most of the coasters and other rides with no problems. I didn't specifically ask my doctor about riding coasters, but he gave me the OK to resume normal physical activity after two weeks.

Check with your doctor.
