Disney Adventures

The itineraries and activities certainly are appealing.

At first I was ready to agree the prices were high. But then I realized that they didn't include airfare. Now I think they're absurd. For the Oahu-Hawaii tour it's $10K for a family of four (plus airfare) for 6 days. That means I can spend $1000 per day and still save enough for a 7-day cruise. Even in Hawaii $1000 a day can buy a very nice vacation, thank you!

Clearly Disney is marketing toward those for whom price is not an issue. I hope they are successful, but I'm afraid I can't help them out here.

A couple years ago I participated in a survey where they offered a hypothetical Hawaiian adventure that was even more ambitious than the one currenltly offered and cost $14K. So they have actually trimmed it back a little.

I would love to do it, but I have never spent that much on a vacation. Even our honeymoon, which I thought was high at $3500 for both of us at a Sandals resort for a week, was a lot cheaper than these. I might even consider the points route and just "waste" the points, but I don't even have enough points if I banked and borrowed for 2 people.

Oh well, maybe if I hit the powerball numbers!

The only way I can even imagine us ever doing this point or otherwise, is if we have world perks miles to burn and we are in a bank/borrowed or lose the points situation. And even then...I would think I'd prefer a cruise on the Magic and a stay on property.

We're checking out Hawaii for 2007 and this isn't even a considersation.

For my family of 4 it would be about 10G. Thats a lot of cash for one week.
