Disney Adventure Planning Thread

This is incredibly disappointing. .....
- The future credits will have block out dates, and even though they will be available around that Oct 8th date to apply to new bookings, they can’t be applied to any cruises (regardless of ship) that has a sail date prior to March next year. The credit isn’t solely for use on future Adventure bookings, but this piece of information was NOT communicated in the email- we were hoping to apply it to new Jan 26’ bookings on the Wonder, but can’t.
I'd double check with a DCL rep on this restriction of having to be used on a cruise after 3/31/26. The email just says it has to be booked by that date. My personal experience with a previous recovery discount did not have that restriction. (Though I would like to know what blockout dates may be in effect, and that should have been in our email, imho.)

****editing to add: if you are trying to use the discount only on the Adventure, then yeah, booking a cruise that starts after March 2026 makes sense. I would think if you are wanting to use the discount on a different ship, you can apply it any time after October 8.

We're on one of the canceled cruises, but I was going to wait for things to settle down before I called, in addition to deciding with our cruise friends which cruise we want to plan together with the discount.
If I hear more, I'll post.

Sorry you lost your flight money. We booked a flight that had a cancelation penalty, so will recover most of our money.

This is incredibly disappointing. We have lost the cost of our flights from Australia, and some accommodation too. Insurance doesn’t want to know about it. Here are a few extra pieces I’ve learnt from speaking with DCL:
- DCL knew they would be cancelling long before now (as told to me by the US call centre).
- The refunds will take time to process, and DCL CMs don’t yet have an idea when they will be triggered- they hope it’s in the next week or two, but it will still take 7-10 business days from that date. This is so frustrating- we would like to book something again ASAP for this Christmas, somewhere else, but DCL can’t give a date on when refunds will be triggered.

Sorry to hear this about insurance, what insurance company did you use and what is their excuse for not wanting to know about it?

Pretty poor on the insurance company for this, it was totally out of your control.

Though, this is something you need to see exactly what your policy covers. One policy may vary from another.

I had to edit my PTR, yet again.

The limit on using the 50% off is what is causing all the sailings to sky rocket. They are takings thousands of reservations and popping them into sailings that have already been past opening day pricing and the scramble for a reservation is bumping up all sailings considerably. The 50% off isn't really much with all of that. Plus we don't get refunds or the discount until next month, so all deposits are an extra cost. They should've given free deposits, OBC and a longer limit yo use the discount.

I have spoken with both the US and Singapore call centres at length, and while I keep arguing that the email doesn’t say this, all I keep getting is “the policy given to us (the CMs) states that is the case, and Disney should be emailing customers soon with more details.” I’ve spoken with people at multiple levels about it- it’s a joke.

Our son has a life threatening brain disease and has had strokes, and there is only one insurer in Australia that we’ve found we can go with for travel- All Clear. The comment from All Clear yesterday was “there’s nothing stopping you from going to Singapore still” and cancellation by operator only comes into play if the trip has commenced.
