Hello peeps!
Welcome to my trip report in the making(PTR). We are actually very close to our big family extravaganza! We leave for Florida in 14 days!
Let's me begin where are trip reports should begin at the beginning. This trip started coming together around December of last year. I was contemplating our next family vacation, since my husbands job has them put in vacation time at the end of that year for the following year.
We knew we wanted to get away before the summer. I hate crowds and waiting in line. So much so that once we over slept and didn't make rope drop for MK. We were driving into the parking lot and where waiting like 20 minutes just to park at the TTA. I decided while waiting to park we had to go it was gonna be too crowded if we were waiting this long to park.
Don't get me wrong I can handle crowds, I love to get there at opening have a plan knock attraction out then people watch as hundreds stand there park map in hand scratching heads as wait times soar to well over an hour.
We originally had a cruised planned for this time. Then after some careful consideration and many more family members saying they wanted to go back to Florida , we changed our plans.
Our family vacation is set for Saturday April 26th till May 3rd. We will be visiting Universal Orlando for 4 of those days.
So how big is this family vacation ? Too big lol
We actually choose universal because of all the people going. It was actually much cheaper going here versus Disney.
Although we have 4 kids under 5. We have 10 adults that vary from the youngest 20 to 45. There are many roller coaster enthusiast in the group. As well as two die hard Harry Potter fans(I'm one of them)
As much as I am dying to go back to Disney, we visited 5 times in 2013. I have agreed to not visit Disney World till 2016. I am sort of cheating as we are going to California in September (Disneyland stop). (As well as I am running in the PHM in 2015,don't tell hubby)
We will be staying in a huge 7 bedroom, 5 bathroom house in legacy park. It looks stunning and the location was perfect.
If we were going to Disney I would stay on site but when visiting universal I the space trumps the location.
The reason I am writing this trip report is of course to keep track of our amazing adventures, but also most important reason is because there isn't many detailed reports on universal orlando. One of the reasons I get excited about Disney is there are a million trip reports and dinning reviews. I would love to share our family's darkest vacation ever! It's gonna be fun!
Next up meeting the family....
