I tried to log in to my Disney account but the email address and password has been changed (not by me). Obviously DVC member services is closed and I will call 1st thing in the morning. Since all of my Disney accounts are linked together I tried to call Disney+ and the Disney store since the still have customer service answering phones. I was told by both that they would submit an IT ticket and would help me in 3-5 days. Does anyone have any advice or has had this experience and can tell me the quickest route to resolution?

That does sound alarming. I'm not *yet a DVC owner but this situation has crossed my mind before. As long as nobody shows up for the reservation before you are able to make contact then you should be able to have it resolved with no lingering issues.

Not much a person could do with a DVC hacked account. Maybe they could try to rent out a resvt'n in your name... but it seems like alot of work and risk for something that's very unlikely to pan out. There's a good chance IT is wonking out.

Try not to feel too upset. It's uncomfortable but should get fully resolved tomorrow. *fingers crossed for you*

You might want to try calling disney website technical services, though I’m not sure if anyone is there now -

If you have updated your web browser and you continue to experience technical difficulties, please contact us at (407) 939-7765. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

I strongly suggest you check other accounts.
More than your Disney account may have been hacked.
Change as many passwords as you can .
now.
Yep, if you use the same password on any other accounts, change it everywhere, immediately, prioritizing sites where you have credit card information stored.

I had my Disney+ hacked into a few weeks ago, resulting in all my accounts hijacked. The person who hacked it went in and changed the email and password on the account. I called the Disney+ customer service hotline and they were able to help me out right away. They recovered my account for me. They had me provide a different email than the one that was originally in my account. Then changed my password. Also deleted any credit card information I had stored in my accounts. The young lady who helped me out was awesome. She got everything restored in about 30 minutes.

My Netflix account was hacked a couple of months ago and when I called customer service they advised my creating a strong and unique password. It seems as though this is not uncommon.

As an Information Security professional, I cannot stress enough the need to have a password in the 9-14 character range with Capital Letters/Numbers/Special Characters combined in. Also, if they offer any form of "Mult-factor" or "Two-Factor" sign up for it, it's an extra step that could save you a lot of hassle and more importantly, precious dollars. Thank you, that ends my public service announcemnt for this evening. I am going back to drinking my cocktail now. :)

Its not Disney + or DVC thats the issue. Its that the email and password combination used for these accounts has been used on another website which has had a security breach and had their data bases stolen and sold on the dark web.

Thats why its important to not to use the same password and email combination for every website log in.

Years ago, there was a time when I logged in to my DVC account and could see someone else's DVC account but not mine. It was very odd. Coincidentally, they lived in a town quite close to me. I had full access to their account, but I just wanted to get access to mine of course. However, as someone already stated, it was obvious that there was no benefit to having access to someone else's DVC account if I had bad intentions. I called DVC IT and they got things straightened out. Quite scary! I can't remember if this was before all the Disney pw's had to be the same or not.

Hmm, I think I managed to get away with a separate email address & password for my Disney+ account. I went in with the D23 deal and had a completely separate email on that vs. my go.com/ESPN/Disney stuff.

I think the worst thing that could happen with a DVC account hack is someone cancelling some long standing reservations and those are permanently lost and points stranded. Yikes.

Use a password manager like 1password or lastpass. Use a unique (random) password for every site. Use 2FA wherever it's offered. Password rules about length, capitals, etc aren't nearly as useful as the passwords just being different between websites. 99% of account cracks are either phishing or you reused your password and one of your sites was cracked. Never reuse passwords.

So when I signed up for Disney+ it changed my DVC password to the Disney+ password. It's not a hacking, it's Disney IT. I didn't even think of it at the time, just switched which password I was using.

It happened to me a few months ago. I got an email notification that my password reset had been successful on Disney +, so I immediately called and put a halt to it before they could change the email. It was a huge pain. I have no idea how we were hacked, we're very careful.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen. Somehow it didn’t occur to me it would be part of the same Disney account. I really don’t want the password to all our DVC etc being shared around with all the kids to log in on their devices and Disney has no other options (other than linking the DVC to a different email). So I canceled the original Hulu/Disney+ subscription and created another one under a dedicated family email address.
