Disney ABC Swap Progress Thread

I am almost done with all my other swaps so I'll get working on these again soon. I have a few things cut out but I'm not even close to being finished.

I've got all my Under the Sea done!

One double matted topper 8" x 2"

One file folder with embellishments and a mini tag

One library pocket with embellishments and a tag

I hope you all like them!

I am done! Just have to send it all in. So how do I figure out postage for the return envelope and how big and envelope do I need to send??

If you want it sent back priority then then it will fit into a flat rate box, I got one package today and it was sent priority and cost a little more then $8. What I used to do in a swap is I take it to the post office and have them tell me how much it'll cost to mail and then buy two or three extra stamps. if I didn't need them I get them back, but they are a safety in case what I get back weighs more then what I shipped. But now with flat rate envelopes and boxes for priority. I fill out a address label and flat rate stamp and stick it in the package that I'm mailing.

I will not be checking in again until after July 9 on this thread. I plan to throw this in a folder with me when I leave and maybe I can work on them some when I am gone.

I did not send extra stamps and I did not send flat rate postage. I just sent the same postage. Would you like me to send a few more stamps?

I based what i sent on what it tend to cost when I egt stuff back, with extra is this is a BIG swap, and to cover any extra packing materials. Please do let me know if you need extra $$

I am ready to mail. :woohoo: I want to confirm that we can send a flat rate stamp?

I am going to the post office in the morning and I will probably have to take my kids with me so I want to know exactly what I should do before I get there LOL!

I weighed my package and it came out to 2lbs and .4 oz so the USPS website said that is only $5.05. Now I understand that the return package may be heavier so I think I want to send a flat rate stamp. Or else I should send in a money order for $8.95 for the host to buy a stamp/box? I don't want to pay to mail a box. But I don't want to have the host paying my postage!

Anyone who has already mailed stuff in know?

I made it to the Post Office this morning! The kids were bad, my son pulled a belt off a little boyscout teddy bear. He also tried to hang on one of those line dividers and it tipped over and made a big noise. An elderly man in line behind me looked at me with one of those "can't you control your kids Lady?" looks

But my elements are on the way along with enough stamps to pay for Flat Rate on the way back!

I just realized that my toppers for one is 5x3.6"..hope that is ok ...I figured that the area is 17.5 square inches which is more than the 16" from a 4x4 or 8x2..and the proportions looked better with what I did than if it were bigger in the width...I can post photos if people would like...

oooo of course we love photo's if you have the time to post them :)

I can't speak for everyone else, but I think its the proportions that are important, and the measurements are just to stop anyone sending in a tiny little thing that would get lost on a big page.:)

Thanks for the input. This is my first swap so I'm quite apprehensive. On top of that I got a friend to help me on some of it, and not that I want to criticize the work but let's just say it wasn't quite what I wanted on some of the elements (the mickey heads cut out on the J page aren't as even as I'd like them)....but I so appreciated her help!

Checking in again. I got the paper I needed at CKC and learned some really cool embelishment techniques I plan on using (At least they are new to me).
