Hi all and thanks in advance for your help. I called WDW a couple days ago
(#407-WDISNEY) just checking rates for 4/06 trip, and asked the CM if there was an #800 I could call for reservations and she said no. I didn't press her, thinking the #800 I found on here was a big secret. Isn't the number 800-828-0228?? Is it a real reservations number, and if so, why would she deny it existed??? :confused3 thanks!!

Well I sure hope so, I made my ressies on the 800#. My ressie did appear on the WDW website, so I'm sure it's legit. I had them transfer me to Dining to make an ADR too. I don't know why she wouldn't know it or would deny there is one.

Disney doesn't advertise their 800#. Why?

Why should Disney pay for each 800# when people are quite willing to pay themselves for the 407#. It's your dime your using to call Disney, not theirs.

Shrewd business practice, IMO. Think of how long you wait on hold usually, all on your dime. I'm so glad I have unlimited long distance now. :)

It's real. I've used it for the past 7 trips, and they had my reservations when I showed up.

I have also used it for my past 3 trips and it is legit. Goes straight to Disney

I used it for my ADRs earlier this month. A few times I was asked for my Grand Gatherings #, and when I didn't have one, I was told next time I should call 1-407.......! Yeah, right!

At TDS, when we sell tickets, the guests' activation slip prints out an 800#. I can't remember what the number is (I've seen it so many times, you'd think I would)...but I do know the number is legit. But I know it's not something Disney advertises though. I can understand why...as it can be quite costly to the company to have everyone using the 800 number.

I was also under the impression is was for Travel Agents use. You can make reservations and PSs etc but when they ask you to call the 407 DINE line directly to get more information or more specifc description of something.

Most CM's don't know the number exists. there is an 800# specifically for Travel Agents, but the "unwashed masses" are supposed to use the toll number. CRO is aware of the increased popularity of the 800# and is currently in the process of making changes, such as a valid IATA number required to access this number. Beleive me, Disney doesn't want you using that number.

Ha! Ha! I use it all the time and it works, in fact I just used it the other day to make PS arrangements. It certainly doesnt seem like a secret # for TA's. It asks the same exact ?'s as the 407 #. So I'm not sure how secret it really is.

That seems ridiculous to me, just about every other large company in the world has a 800#

How many people call WDW every minute to ask what time the 3:00 parade is at Magic Kingdom though? ...and why it's at 3:00 and not 3:01.

I used that 800 number once and a CM asked me for my McDonald's number. When I told her I didn't have one, she said that this 800 number is for McDonald's employees only.

But when I tried it earlier this week, I got the recording preceded by that annoying "beep-beep-beep-beep" saying it was no longer in service. I double checked that I had dialed correctly and tried again. Got the recording again. It may have been a fluke, but I was no able to get through on that one.

They have done this in the past... had an 800 number that got out to "the masses" and elliminated it. It was replaced and the process continues.

That's very true, but how many of those same company have every 7 & 8 yr old calling to speak to Mickey?

One of the first calls I ever got at DRC was from a little girl wanting to speak to Mickey. She Said she was Minnie's cousin and it was an emergency. I told her there was no way I could get to Mickey at the time, but if she'd let me talk to her Mommy, I'd be happy to get some call back information. She hung up.

Having worked for a myriad of Fortune 500 Companies that have toll free numbers, I can tell you that the WEIRDO calls get thru far too often, hence having a guest pay for a call makes complete sense. I mean, serriously, what business is it of Joe Schmoe what color my toe nails are painted or if I prefer thongs over panties. (real calls from HSN's Call center)

I used the 800 number to make my ADR's every day for an entire week and never had a problem getting thru, was never put on hold, or asked any questions by the CM's. :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I'll have to open up my AP Pass Holder but I believe that there is an 800 number specifically for AP Holders. I have used the number above everytime that I call to make arrangements and have never been told that it was for use by a specific group of callers.

I'll continue to use it until they force us to the toll number.

Haven't tried the aforementioned number lately but if it doesn't work maybe Disney changed it because of too many "unauthorized" calls coming in. Also if a number leads to a bank of phone lines and all of the lines are busy, sometimes your phone just goes silent.

Sunking, it's a 407 # to. :( I just called as a passholder and booked (again) on the 800#. I'd hate it if they changed it, I give them a lot of business (my own) by using it.

There is actually a different number for TA's and on that one you do have to enter a valid IATA/CLIA number in order to proceed and be connected with a CM, so I can't see them changing this particular number to a TA number, but I can see them just doing away with it...seems the secret is getting out!
