Disney 3 night cruise price ranges??

Hi, I just got a quote for the 3 night Disney cruise for July (this year) and it was over $5,000.00. It is for me, my husband, and my 3 children (ages 5,6,9). That seemed really high to me! I was expecting more like the high $2,000 to $3,000.00 range. I have never priced the cruises, so maybe this is the going rate. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also, we are flexible on the time of year we go. Has anyone ever been on a December cruise? How is the weather in Dec? Thanks!

I am sailing Cat 4 with my husband and three children (9, 7, 2) in December for less than half that price.
