Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Coming to former Reflections Site in 2027!

It’s this resort’s equivalent of savannah view 😂 You probably won’t see these animals but at least have a chance to smell them to know they’re there.

That's realism at its finest. You can't Imagineer that over the long term.

But it's only real if the prevailing wind is heading towards the north (if my sense of direction is correct). :sail: I mean, honestly, that's where the horses come from to Main Street every single day.

Those guests should consider themselves lucky to get that northerly breeze as they wake up and open their sliding glass doors in their windows or balconies. @Genie+ , the view may be the same but the giraffes 🦒 from AK don't go down the middle of the main tourist thoroughfare with any regularity like the MK horses do.

But for lots of city kids, that smell will be a wonderful learning opportunity for them. :teacher:

Honestly curious, with all the complaints with how this looks like an un-themed monstrosity, what exactly is an example of a well themed exterior at a resort at WDW? Everything I can think of (Except Wilderness lodge) is literally just a standard hotel design with different paint and accents. They are still so early on in the construction none of these elements would be done to make an assessment. So I don’t understand all the hate for it being untethemed when its literally just a shell?

Eisner era resorts have lots of theming

It may be from some people who love the WL area, and this is such a huge resort encroaching on a deeply loved and historical area of WDW. I personally think it's a very nice-looking building so far, but I definitely get it.

It's nice looking, sure, but it is so generic it could go anywhere.

But 'anywhere' is not a chicken wing toss from a 1971 original WDW resort themed wilderness/frontier campground on Bay Lake. This pleasantly bland timeshare/hotel is NOTHING like the surrounding property within its sight lines. It's like putting a Tomorrowland themed ride VERY close to the Japan Pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase.

This point is so obvious even Helen Keller could see my point.

Perfect illustration of the stark differences.

These are so unimaginative I didnt even realize that may home resort of VDH was one that you put a photo of.

In fairness, those were moneyshots for the “approved” resorts and not the moneyshots for Island Tower etc..

Also isn’t VDH simply “Disneyland Hotel”-themed? It might not be the original tower anymore but I feel like that property’s always had that “mid century hotel” nature,

Yes but it doesn’t look like the Disneyland Hotel at all. If it did I’d be much happier. It does have much more character than Poly Tower I will give it that.

I don't mind the Riviera so much
Riviera is definitely more themed as a more recent tower resort! I was just going off the 80s and 90s when Eisner was CEO.

This thread is so funny. Someone says resorts aren't themed besides WL (which is crazy because WL, AKL, and GC are all designed by the same architect) so I literally provide moderates and deluxes over two decades under Eisner that are highly themed and they're misleading "money shots." I would argue "Discovery" is actually lazy theming and not a land within DL itself like the other buildings.

No matter how you frame PVB IT it looks very similar to VDH and the Reflections render.

There are no balconies for the rooms facing Fort Wilderness' Pioneer Hall (Trails End and Hoop Dee Doo Review). But the time share or hotel guests can view the Pioneer Hall dumpsters from the comfort of their rooms.

It is a bland, generic property that they are trying to prop up with whatever-the-latest-IP-is-to-push.

What a waste. That property could have been so much more.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney knows the Pioneer Hall Building is in need of an update to match the new look of the Fort Wilderness Cabins and will eventually “ modernize” that .
Maybe they’ll change the name of the entire area to just one big Lakeshore Retreat. And that is why they are so close together .
AND be so thankful they didn’t add a casino , we will just continue our addictive behavior devoted to Disney .Who needs a casino anyway when we have someplace “ better” to throw our money . ?

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but when are we expecting to see this property go into active sales?

Disney has said 2027. I’d suspect beginning of 2027 with the progress they’ve made.

2027 opening but possibly 2026 active sales, right? I believe PIT, VDH, and RIV went on sale 8-9 months prior to opening?

Disney Lakeshore Lodge Shows Progress On Entrance and Exterior of A Frame Cabins

Progress has been made at Disney Lakeshore Lodge since our last update. Sections of the resort have new steel framing, windows, doors, and sheathing. The entrance is getting more shape while the A-frame cabins are coming together.

The roofing of the lobby appears close to finished. The framework of the front entrance is better visible.

A-frame cabins are in rows on either side of the main resort. Crews have been adding more supports and wood details to the cabins over the past few weeks.

Cabins on the other side of the resort have begun to receive metal roofing and wood fascia on the edges. Most of the cabins nearest Clementine Beach now all have wooden details and the beginnings of overhangs.

Progress appears to have been made on the roof, as detailing seems to be added.

More steel keeps being installed on several of the roof structures and overhangs, with nearly all of the windows and door openings having glass. The supports in the water are for a future dock, also clearly visible in bioreconstruct’s aerial photos.

Not much has changed at this end with continued work on sheathing and additional overhang frames.

Further down, concrete is still the most recent layer. The concrete wall jutting out has a pattern of vertical lines with small horizontal lines. This pattern may be expanded or highlighted with paint as work continues.

Our reported noted the pool area has flattened somewhat, although it might take a bioreconstruct update to confirm what has been happening in that area.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is being built next to Fort Wilderness Resort, along Bay Lake on the former site of the defunct water park River Country. Like the original Reflections conceptannounced in 2018, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is a Disney Vacation Club resort and will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”

The new resort is set to open sometime in 2027.
